  1. Really warms the cockles to hear an oppo fan say that. We love Miley and we're all f**king terrified that PSR will force us to sell him at some point, as we did Anderson. Look, I understand bias will play a part here, but for me, the challenge on Gordon by Chalobah was a nailed on penalty. No intent to play the ball and while shoulder-to shoulder is fine if two players jostling for the ball, it's not when one comes through like a TGV as first contact. To be honest I thought the officials were sh*t for both teams. there were orange cards all over the shop, but Madley never really had a grip on the game. The Chelsea we faced in the second half were worlds apart from the timid lot we saw in the first. I don't fully understand Maresca-ball but I guess it's working? James is an absolute Rolls Royce of a player and it's a shame he's injured so often. Anyway, if you'd offered me a point before the game I'd have snapped your hands off, so I can't be too salty that we got it. Hope all that made it up for the game had a good time in Newcastle, and maybe see you in the LC final?
  2. Morning lads, Geordie in peace here with some beer advice. There's over 100 pubs in walking distance of the ground Bridge Tavern is good for food and the terrace etc. The Forth is a personal favourite, decent selection of beers, good crowd, really close to the ground. Get out to the Ouseburn area and you'll find some good bars/pubs, Tyne Bar chief among them (great view of the quayside and bridges up the Tyne). The Wylam Brewery in Exhibition park is a big taproom in a Grade II listed building constructed to exhibit art back in the 1920s. Tilleys is a bit less refined than the Forth, but it's got the sport on, and a good selection of beers too. Hope all who make it up enjoy the visit. Long f**king way to go just before Christmas, but at least it's not a night game.
  3. Havertz's elbow was an orange card, but it was a definite penalty on Murphy. There's holding, in the box, on the player in control of the ball, to affect his progress. Looking for the penalty is immaterial, and by the laws of the game it should have been a penalty. If we get (and score) that penalty at 0-0 and who knows how the game could have ended. That aside, we turned up at Stamford Bridge without a stack of our better players, spoiled the game to reduce the impact your stars could have and almost came away with a point. Nice to come away feeling disappointed to be narrowly beaten, rather than accepting a f**king hammering as was the norm. Burn apparently lost his finger when a ring he was wearing got caught on a fence and ripped it off.
  4. Pretty much went as expected bar getting a goal. Thought we did alright on the whole, but the gulf in class was painfully obvious. Individual errors on our part didn't make the job any easier, but even had we put out our first choice team, focussed and in good form, I'd have expected a loss. Hazard is unreal. Absolutely unreal. Thought Darlow had a decent game for us, keeping the score down and denying Hazard his hat trick. Murphy is growing into the League a bit. Ritchie had a stinker but Mo Diame is a f**king fraud, who'd have thought we could find a player that's worse than Sissoko... Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, think the Premier League is Man City's to lose, but it's not like that's your only chance of silverware. Lucky f**kers. ps, if you want travel, food, pub advice for the return fixture, let me know.
  5. Geordie in peace here. Couple of things; First off, re: the tickets, the club didn't take the full allocation (for whatever reason) so the fans bought every ticket that was available. https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/chelsea-a-ticket-news-17-18. Seems daft to have a dig at Newcastle's travelling support when we travel in numbers, more often than not this season they've been shifted for the tv cameras, and it's not like they're short away journeys. And secondly you should win this one fairly easily. We're not playing well, we're missing our captain and best defender in Lascelles and an alright wide threat in Atsu. Joselu can't score but Benitez doesn't fancy Mitrovic, we look shaky at the back and Shelvey isn't pulling up any trees in the centre. We'll probably switch back from the 442 that saw us lose to Burnley, Bournemouth, Man Utd, and Watford. So we'll likely set up 4-2-3-1 and try and frustrate you, keep you to chances from outside the box. Luckily you've nobody that can score from distance... right? I'd put money on Chelsea -1, and to keep a clean sheet.
