MasonMountXI got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Mason Mount new dealMount is one of the best players in the world for his age. He won everything with the Chelsea academy. He won the Euros with the England and got the player of the tournament. He got player of the year at Vitesse and their fans and players say he is the best loanee they have had from us by far. He has clubs queuing up to take him either on loan or permanently. Southgate mentioned him in the press conference and said they are closely monitoring him.
You post like he is bang average. If anything being at Chelsea is a hindrance for him because of the lack of respect we show our youth players by never actually bothering to play any of them in the first team, no matter how good they are.

MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealMy issue isn't whether he's special, it is obvious that he is. Its these new fans that hear a young lad has done well on a loan in a sh*t league and reckon he should be starting for Chelsea. Van Ginkel has done far better than Mount this season but even he doesn't look ready for Chelsea and is years older too.
Mount may be ready in a coupe of years, he doesn't look it now though.

MasonMountXI reacted to Nibs in Mason Mount new dealI'm kinda with MasonMountXI (you haven't done yourself any favours though calling yourself that).
This lad does appear to be a bit special. Okay, so do many who have gone before him but back then, we were in the position where we ate at the top table and could throw sh*t-loads of cash at top players. That doesn't seem to be the case any more and I just sense there might be a change of policy and that more of our academy players could break through. If Mount is as good as we hope, why waste sending him on loan somewhere where he could suffer the same bad experience as many before him. I really do think we should use the Europa League to give as many of the really top youngsters some decent game time whilst integrating them with the 1st team squad.
How good would it be if in a couple of seasons time, RLC, Mount, CHO + one or two others were first team regulars in a Chelsea side challenging for honours.

MasonMountXI reacted to Nibs in Mason Mount new dealBut sometimes you have to take that risk. What is "ready"? All players are different - some will struggle to make the step up to the first team, some will take to it like a duck to water and actually play even better and never look back. I bet many argued at the time that Ali and Kane weren't ready to step up for Spurs, but it's all about taking the opportunity when it comes along.

MasonMountXI reacted to bisright1 in Mason Mount new dealDele Alli wasn't sent on loan. He only ever performed in league one.
I'd like to see him play in the Europa league and be given a shot at the first team. Our midfield isn't that strong anyway so he could find a way in.

Vitesse captain Guram Kashia has seen many Chelsea loanees come and go in his eight years at the club, but has hailed Mount as the best he has seen. He told De Telegraaf. "Man, this boy is brilliant. At the beginning of the season, I saw him as a little boy with us at the training. I liked him and saw that he was a smart player, but thought he was too young. I never thought he would go that forward.
"I have seen very good talents, but Mason is the best. [Bertrand] Traore, for example, was great, but with him it went step by step in a year and a half. What this boy does for each other in one season ... it's as if he suddenly improved 50 per cent. "

MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealGael Kakuta once won that. NEXT.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealLets be honest though, how many youth players from other teams that are probably doing well on loans do we know about and people are speaking about. We only speak about Mount because he's a Chesea lad, if he was having this season whilst on loan from City not a single person on this forum would mention him and would laugh at the thought of him being included. More so if he had come through the Vitesse academy and had this season people wouldn't be asking for his call up.
Sterling operates well through the middle, but he's offered width all season for City much like Sane.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealand rightly so Sessegnon wasn't included in the 23 man squad. Looking past Sterling what actual wingers do we have in the England squad? Lingard/Rashford/Vardy/Welbz all get shoved out to the wings but all operate better in the middle.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealand a 19 year old lad with one season playing in Holland would help with that over seasoned internationals?
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealha ha ha ha
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealThis is the point. Being Vitesse's best player means very little.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealAdding to the last bit, where have their players or staff said "Mount is better than Baker".?
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealYou said he has done more than Baker. I showed he hasn't. Less goals, less titles.
Just showing that doing it at Vitesse DOESN'T mean you're good enough to get close to Chelsea level. Lad needs a proper loan.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealI think he would have been an exception and made the first team. Was pretty much world class from the second he stepped on the pitch. Once in a life time talent.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. This is nothing more than an opinion. If it was fact, Mount would be on the plane to Russia in Ruben's place.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealBaker scored 15 goals in 39 games and lead Vitesse to their first ever cup.
Mount has scored 14 in 39 and no cup win. Would hardly say he's done that much better.
Are we really trying to put Mount on the Messi pedestal? At 19 Messi was playing in Barca's first team and scoring for fun. Messi certainly would have been playing for us had we had him in our academy. Fact is none of our academy come close to him and likely ever will.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealIgnoring the point that everything he is doing Lewis Baker did long ago.
Yes our youth players a good. Good enough to go prove themselves on loan in a real league like RLC before having opportunities handed to them.

MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in Mason Mount new dealThe only one i have seen seriously considered is Sessegnon. Not seen a single person mention the others for a look in on the team.
-
MasonMountXI reacted to GarnachoCheese in New EraI've only been on this forum about 3 years and the amount of times i've seen this thread get started. "next season we need to play our youth players!!! etc.".
Ain't gonna happen, rinse and repeat. See you in a couple of months when someone else restarts this thread under a new title.
