Random Rumours
Our reported targets (if true) are underwhelming to say the least. If our 'major summer signing' (according to BBC Sport) is Raheem Sterling, then it shows a total lack of ambition as far as I'm concerned. And Richarlison? I despair. No wonder we can't attract any top names any more. After all that was reported when the new owners took over, it's all turned a bit meh. After all the excitement and anticipation, I am not looking forward to this coming season whatsoever at the moment. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Tottenham take our place as London's top team. (I was nearly sick typing that!) Sorry for all the negativity, and I know plenty on here will be saying, "the window's open 'till 1st September!", but we need players in for pre-season, not almost a month after the opening game. And most importantly, we need good players that fit in with our style of play, not most of the dross we've been linked with. We've had enough of them to last a lifetime.

Richarlison - a charlatan?
Definitely no. Bloody hell, how our standards have dropped.

As there's nothing to see here, the BBC Sport website is reporting that Liverpool have agreed a 41m euro (£35.1m) deal to sell Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich. Seems a good deal for the Germans.

Haven't a clue what rules he's talking about, just going by this quote in The Times: The new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has said the club will not be able to buy players at any price because “Financial Fair Play is starting to get some teeth”.

Could happen. Probably end up at Tottenham or Arsenal 😁

I admire your optimism!

I think what he meant was, we cannot keep paying over the odds (i.e. paying 'any price') for players like we used to (eg. Lukaku, Kepa etc.) especially now the new FFP rules are coming into force. I don't expect to see City abiding by them though. They'll still still continue with their dodgy sponsorships like they always have. Does that make us mugs? I don't know, but how they continue to get away with it is what I'd like to know.

Hmmm, don't rate Broja myself, not for a club with title-winning aspirations anyway, but I hope he proves me wrong.

Can't believe we're sticking with this tinpot company, especially when they couldn't wait to jump ship after Roman was sanctioned. We should be aiming higher than that, surely? I thought Todd had ruled out any partnership with them going forward? Obviously not. On the subject of Todd, it would be nice to hear an update or something on the consortium's future plans. The silence has been deafening.

Who else is there though?

Yes, totally agree actually. Kounde and Barcelona deserve each other.

Random Rumours
Kounde now in 'advanced talks' with Barcelona apparently. This sort of sh*te happens to us every window. We target a player and 9 times out of 10, he ends up elsewhere. Even if the Barca move falls through, I hope we tell him to f**k off if he decides he wants to come here after all.

Hmmmm................maybe so, but quite a few reporting the same thing, including Forbes. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomsanderson/2022/06/15/kounde-chooses-to-sign-for-fc-barcelona/

That's right, he's been released.

Jules Kounde has reportedly informed Sevilla that he would prefer to join Barcelona over Chelsea this summer. If true, then he can f*** off to Barcelona. I only want players that 100% want to come here. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1625843/chelsea-transfer-news-jules-kounde-barcelona-swap-deal-sevilla-gossip

I reckon Ousmane Dembele is favourite to sign for us as it stands. BBC Sport rates the chance of getting him as 9/10 (the same as Kounde) Details here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea Also, Werner scores twice for Germany. Wish he could do the same for us!

Seems it's a pelvic injury, not hamstring. Don't know if that's better or worse? https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/jules-kounde-surgery-chelsea-fc-transfer-b1005992.html

We've also released Drinkwater, Musonda and Clarke-Salter. I always thought Clarke-Salter might make it here, but obviously not.

That's us (or has been us) in a nutshell. Let's hope with the new owners it'll be different this year.
-
Random Rumours
Will there be any 'quality signings' left on deadline day though? I would imagine they'd all be hoovered up by all our rivals (as per) long before then and we'll be left with the Zappacostas and Drinkwaters again.

Apparently its a long-term hamstring issue, so shouldn't be anything to worry about. He shouldn't have been playing for France though. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2022/6/14/23166795/jules-kounde-set-to-undergo-surgery-for-long-term-hamstring-issue
