  1. Be careful with the narrative that he wants to play for Chelsea. With all the respect and admiration Chelsea deserves...but you were just the first knocking to his head seriously.
  2. According to Roger Schmidt, Benfica manager, Chelsea promised Enzo that they would pay the release clause and not to worry about nothing else. Well, if true, Not very nice.
  3. Record newspaper is good to set fire to barbecues. Or to clean mirrors.
  4. I don't think so. He has been saying for months that he would only leave by activating the clause. Beside, Benfica does not have any sort of interest in delaying this, as we had to find a substitute for Enzo, and in this transfer window this would be a much harder task for us than it is for you.
  5. That's what we dream about. 😅 Salary is too high. 25M for 5 months it's not for our pocket.
  6. He's not everything you read from him. And I'm not saying this because he plays for Porto. He is good, but very inconsistent, at least at this point of his career.
  7. What a waste of talent with Simeone (Atletico) and Fernando Santos (Portugal). He deserves the Premier League.
  8. From the feedback I have, unless anything changes suddenly the player will only be released by paying the full clause. With the previous president I have no doubts that the player would be here already, but Rui is a bit different, he's a Benfica fanatic and cares more about the quality of the team than the financial part. He will eventually have to sell someone, we need to sell basically every season to balance the accounts, but this season is going pretty well for us and dissemble the team now could be chaotic. The good thing about this is being able to keep a stunning player at least until summer. The down side could be the negative effect this could cause in him, as he had other expectations for his career at this precise point. And the fact that without this money we cannot make major adjustments in other positions.
  9. Permition to travel maybe, not to miss the trainings. I can't blame him, the kid arrives to Europe, plays CL, wins the world cup, then have a chance to get 7x more salary and play the EPL...he's in heaven. But there's better ways to show he wants to move. He's probably being pushed by many agents and "money suckers" as well. Even River Plate that have 25% to receive might have been making his mind.
  10. It doesn't bother until it happens in your team. 😅 Or maybe not...who knows. It doesn't mean he's gonna do it again anyway. I think it was nasty. Benfica brought him to Europe, gave him the chance to play the CL and go to the WC... We know he would leave sooner or later, we're used to that, but his attitude was childish.
  11. Hello all. Thanks for receiving me in your forum. I'm a Benfica fan and of course all this story around Enzo has been massive. As a player it would be a tremendous lost for us. He is 21 but plays like 30. Very mature and tactically very very wise. Financially, well...it is just incredible how easy clubs spend this amount of money these days...damn. Considering the type of person he revealed to be (👎) and the amount you'll pay for him, I think it's a great business. We would be able to adjust other positions. Hope you enjoy him as well, if it really happens.
