  1. Gouffran has been invisible on this game. And is not good since the beginning of the season. He's quite a disapointment so far. Chamakh has been the best on our side I think, still don't understand why Blanc replaced him. Anyway, see you in Bordeaux guys, hope we will get better soon.
  2. Congrats to you guys! What actually is pissing me off tonight is that we lost without having played football... The 1st half was just pathetic. Loosing is part of the game, but playing football is the 1st thing to do before loosing, or at least I thought so. Even if our beginning of season is clearly not very good, I didn't recognize my team tonight. If I was not fair play I would say what we miss the most is a couple of Russian mafia millions, but actually we didn't even tried to play football tonight. I'm furious about that.
  3. Yeah of course, its Ulrich Ramé, one of the best french goalkeeper of the past decade, although he's getting a bit old now. Use to be in the French national team couples of times.
  4. As said, our first games were not that good, mainly due to defense problems. Cuz our midfield and attack are quite ok, despite the fact that some new players haven't really played their best so far. Anyway, as our defence was one of our main asset last year, I've good hope that the problems will be solved soon, mainly cuz its the same players playing except one (Placente), maybe not against Chelsea, but quick after. Anyway, as all our players (except one: Jussiê, but he's not a starter) are available and will be probably very motivated playing against Chelsea, should be possible to have a result against you, even in London. For those who would like to see the goals of our last game of championship, against Marseille (which plays against Liverpool tomorrow): Bordeaux - Marseille You will be able to appreciate our strikers-friendly defense, but also our pretty nice goal. We're not that bad.
;) Sorry for this french interlude, was just giving a kind advice to my Bordeaux mate.
  6. Was the case for the game against Liverpool two years ago, so its not impossible it will be the same for Chelsea.
  7. Just to let you know, tickets will be sold at the Bordeaux stadium few days before the game and the day of the game. Except if its fully booked, but its rarely the case in Bordeaux, you can always find some tickets. Can't say they will be cheap, though. (The cheapest is 26€ if you buy the pack for the three games at home, but they might be sold alone at a higher price, if there are still some). ;)
  8. Actually Blanc doesn't do the trainings, Jean-Louis Gasset, his assistant, does it. Blanc decides about the tactic, the starter team. He is probably good at that, but the rest of the work is not really made by him. He only takes care of the team the day before the game and the day of the game. As a member of "France 98" (the team world champion), everybody is admiring him at the first occasion, it is a little bit ridiculous sometimes... Last year, he did a very good job as we finished 2nd, but he took a team which was already built and quite strong, from the former trainer Ricardo. So things were not that hard for him. I think we'll really see if he's good when we have some difficulties, if we have some  . I would say he has a good potential, he does want to go on a greater club soon, that's why he wants to get good results in CL, but he hasn't really proved anything so far.
  9. Hello everybody ! I'm a froggies eater and wine drinker, and a Bordeaux fan by the way. I joined this forum soon after the CL draw to see what were your thoughts about it. If you have any question about Bordeaux (the team of course, but also the city if you intend to come for the game) please, feel free to ask me questions. I'm a member of a FC Girondins de Bordeaux fan website, ChezLesGirondins, it is a pretty well known website which speaks about Girondins and football in a humouristic way. It is in French, but you are very welcome to speak in the forum, people will answer you in English. :D I'll do a little presentation of our team: The club was founded in 1881, it is the second oldest football club in France after Le Havre AC, which is now in 2nd division (what you call in UK Championship). So far we won 5 times the championship, one time the 2nd division Championship, 3 Cups, 2 League Cups, and two Sharity Shields (the last one this season against Lyon). We played one UEFA CUP final in 1996. The "golden era" of the club has been during the 80s, when we won three championships and two cups between 1984 and 1987. Last season we finished second of the Ligue 1, 4 points after Lyon. Usually we play in 4-4-2 with one defensive midfielder, two sides midfielders and one number 10 behind two strikers. Our main players are: Ulrich Ramé (Goalkeeper), Alou Diarra (defensive midfielder, used to play in Liverpool), Wendel, Fernando, Yohann Gourcuff, Marouane Chamakh and Fernando Cavenaghi. Three new players joined the team this season: Yohann Gourcuff (offensive midfielder, plays number 10) from AC Milan, Yohann Gouffran (offensive midfielder and striker) from Caen and Diego Placente from San Lorenzo (left side defender, former Leverkusen, the season they went to the CL Final). Two players left us: David Jemmali and Johan Micoud (retired). The most famous players who played for us are (I may forget some): Marius Tresor, Alain Giresse, Jean Tigana, Bernard Lacombe, Didier Deschamps, Éric Cantona, Zinédine Zidane, Christophe Dugarry, Bixente Lizarazu, Johan Micoud, Sylvain Wiltord, Pauleta, Fernando Cavenaghi. What we think of the draw is that its going to be quite difficult to go through the group stages, but if we manage to take 6 points against the Romanian, then we should hope for a result against either you or AS roma, maybe both actually. So hard but not unrealistic. :D
