Manchester City vs. Chelsea (PL) 16/08/15 KO 16:00 BST
Now now mate, it's only a football forum, just the internet, nothing to be getting all upset about. Just found the article a bit ott. I only posted here because we have just played you and it was on my mind, i hardly post on any forums anymore and i certainly don't see the point in wasting energy in getting wound up by anything you don't agree with online. See y'all in another 6 month or so perhaps?.... In the meantime... Chill.

Guys honestly... This is the most ridiculous piece of tragicomedy writing i have ever read... You lot don't believe this to do you?.. I mean there's a lot of dignity in admitting your side was well beaten by the better team. This guy on your Official site must be drunk or just taking the piss? https://www.chelseafc.com/matches/2015-16/08/mancity-chelsea-pl.html

Villa made that very difficult for us today. They really frustrated us and closed everything down very well. Silva is just an extraordinary player though. There isn't anything close to him in the league imo. Yaya took his goal brilliantly but he was off the pace again for most of the game. I think his problem has been Pellegrini playing him so deep to partner Fernandinho which negates what Yaya does best. Fernado will be a key player for us this season, giving Yaya the freedom he needs to push on. Sergio will score 30+ goals this season easily if we can just keep him fit. Overall, not perfect but a very good, hard fought win against a very well drilled and determined Villa side... Over to you lads now, I think you have way too much for Arsenal. I predict a 1-2 and I'd be more than happy if they can hold you to a goalless draw.

There are Many stories behind it, But the truth stems from the period in the 1930's when United were broke and were about to go into administration. They were so skint they couldn't afford to pay for a new strip and so we gave them our old away kit... Hence why to this day we call them The "Rags". It was apparently their own fans who coined the term.

I was sat right next to your fans in the South stand Mod. The whole stadium gave him a clap... The boos were for Mike Dean who was heading towards the tunnel at the same time.

Just got back from the game, here's my honest assessment. For the first 45 mins, we pressed you very well and controlled the game but without really doing all that much with the ball to cause you problems. We bossed the midfield and our energy was great which kept the likes of Fabregas, Hazard and Costa quiet, but you looked very solid and defended manfully. The real talking point was the amount of bookings given out by the ref in what was by no means a dirty game. The second 45 looked to be heading in the same direction. City controlling the game, but not much penetration... Until Zaba lunged into the back of Costa... Absolutely stupid challenge with a card happy ref dying to send someone off. That broke our shape up and it was a case of headless chickens trying to catch up with a superb flowing counter for a lovely Chelsea goal to make it 0-1... Perhaps harsh on City, but i wouldn't say undeserved as Chelsea had stayed strong and took their chance well. By this time i'm thinking who should be MOTM... Kompany, Milner, Terry, Cahill were all superb. But i gave mine to our new CB Mangala. What a player he looks. When Lampard came on i never saw him making a difference if i'm honest. He looked out of shape in his debut against Arsenal, but what a wonderful pro he is. He played like he really wanted to show everyone he could still do it... You couldn't really write that script though could you. It looked like it genuinely hurt him scoring that goal, but hats off to a wonderful pro, and hats off to the away fans who continued to chant his name. In the end it was perhaps a missed opportunity on the balance of play for City to claw back to 2 points behind you. But i will never be upset with a point against Chelsea, and i suspect You lot will probably be happy with the point too.

That's fair enough, but i think some of you seriously underestimate what City are trying to achieve and resort to vitriol and snide at the drop of the hat (no names, we know who they are, usual suspects). It seems some of you don't recognise just how strong our squad is. I'd be comfortable playing either of our starting 11's and we would be fighting for the top honours. Don't mistake arrogance with supreme confidence in not only the squad, but everything that's happening at City behind the scenes that rivals perhaps don't notice or pay heed to? Arrogance is to say we are gonna walk the league and nobody can touch us, but that's far from what myself or any City fan i know thinks. I think any out of the top 4 can realistically win the league and if things go against us, we could finish 3rd, 4th? who knows. But i was commenting on what i've heard all summer, IE Chelsea are favourites because you have bought a striker. I don't believe there are favourites in this league. It's so tight, how can there be? How can anybody conclude that one side has a better chance than another over 38 games when there are so many variables to take into account? I was also commenting on what i saw last night. For 30 mins Liverpool controlled the ball but to be honest, didn't do much with it. We absorbed what little they threw at us and broke them down through a combination of skill and error. In the second half we dominated them without breaking a sweat. All i was pointing out is we haven't really gotten a chance to see Citys best 11 play together very often, and when they do, it's resulted in a mauling for the opposition. Excuse me for feeling confident, i thought this was a decent forum where i could post my views without the snarky comments? Unfortunately this place has taken a dip in the last few months with some very highly strung individuals posting all kinds of bile (usually targeted at each other)

For your information we didn't even have the internet in our hose back in those days. Miles Platting Manchester, Working Class, City fan for 30 years and proud of it. I've told you quite literally for years that this is the "Rivals" section of the forum, yet you never seem to be able to grasp the concept.

Chelsea are a very strong side who can quite possibly turn us over in which there would be no shame. But at home we are more than capable of beating anybody. Citys spine of Hart, Kompany, Yaya, Silva, Aguero only managed 5 starts together last season without one or more of them being injured... We averaged 5-0 a game in those matches, we still won the league without that spine in tact. Just goes to show the depth we had the... We're even stronger now. Keep those 5 fit and no other side has anything close to that kind of strength. The media have been all over Chelsea declaring them favourites because they have finally bought a striker (Options aren't so great if he gets an injury or goes off the boil, but let's overlook that one shall we ) where as City have just quietly got on with their business, strengthening in key positions with quality players. We've gone under the radar which is amusing and pleasing in equal measure. Liverpool blustered for 30 mins last night without really doing anything, then we pulled them apart without ever getting out of 2nd gear. We haven't even warmed up yet, by the time we meet Chelsea at the Etihad in a couple of games time, the machine will be just about ready to roar!

That's exactly what you want from that kind of player. He was brilliant again last night.

Was it the team that finished 3rd perchance?

Ok that's it!... Most retarded thing i've ever seen written on the internet. You make 4 Chan look like the home of reasonable comments! Chelsea fans praising john Terry is understandable even if pretty much every other clubs fans would say kompany is the better defender, (notice how the only other none CFC fan agrees) but i expect nothing different than club bias, it's normal... But Gary f**king Cahill? Just... Just... No!
