  1. My apologies if my sarcasm wasn't easy to see.
  2. I thought all the fuss was about scoring goals? Torres helps Chelsea do lots of things, he just doesn't score often. If we are concerned about drawing fouls then Torres is a superb player? I just checked and he has suffered 17 fouls through 11 games. I also know full well that Sturridge does occassionally pass, I mean just about everyone has to get assists occassionally. I'd just like to see him think a little bit more and help the team take high percentage shots.
  3. All I will say is that should Sturridge want any chance at getting quality minutes, impressing against Sweden for country would be a good start.
  4. Oh I've got no problem giving him a shot, would I prefer Moses get the opportunities though? yes. But on the previous page or two of this discussion, I believe, I posted a potential roster idea that included Studge so I would be willing to include him despite his cons...but should the choice arise I would feel more confident in Moses than Sturridge.
  5. Because Sturridge is a selfish player who I don't think has a clue what the idea of "team football" means.
  6. And there in lies the problem with that...in order to "try" Studge and Torres at the same time, it'd require you remove midfield strength. Like I said, everything seems to revolve around helping Torres succeed...but perhaps that is something that just can not be accomplished.
  7. Now I know that my idea here is about to get ripped apart because it involves putting two of the most volatile players on our team on the pitch at the same time, I think it might be interesting to try 2 up top, just for one match...perhaps a 4-4-1-1. Cech Azpi - Ivan - Luiz - Cole Oscar - Ramires - Mata - Hazard Torres Sturridge Hear me out for a moment.... The obvious knock on Studge is his inability to make the extra pass. He is a shoot first forward who rarely thinks twice about taking a shot. Torres, in his new form, seems to be enthralled with the idea of playing "false 9" Spanish football. He wants to pass and create but seems to lack the ability to ever pull the trigger. Would it hurt to allow him to do just that? The man has been doubling back to make a few key tackles in the middle third and his work rate has been splendid (IMO) this season. Definitely know this might be the most far-fetched "help Torres succeed plan" on this forum yet, but hey...nothing else seems to work.
  8. The problem is simple: Sturridge: Shoots everytime he gets a touch on the ball, rarely looks for the extra pass. Torres: Always looks for the extra pass, rarely shoots the ball. As of late I feel Torres has turned into a creator not a finisher...perhaps he is to used to the false 9 of Spain?
