Gem Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Everton - proof you don't need a striker to get goals & win games, as long as you have quality whipping them in. That said, I'd like another striker... But would prefer a winger...!
Maksimov Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hmmm...an extra match for Liverpool and they have to play Everton away now.
TheWestwayWonder Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) While Ger 'National Traitor' rard's goal shouldve been stopped, the skill leading up to it was brilliant work by Torres. Classy player. And once again, Cahill with a dagger to the heart off a set piece (though it was Lescott that put it in). Mascherano looked like an idiot going down like the starfish twice, second time waving a fake card for Cahill. The little runt shouldve been carded himself. And Robbie Keane was nowhere to be seen. 20 million down the drain? I remember earlier this season Everton were an early pick for relegation by some pundits. Now they have managed to put together an excellent run without any strikers by getting the most from what they do have, and theyre back among the UEFA cup spots. Moyes is really an impressive manager, and it makes me wonder what he can do with big resources. Rafa, on the other hand, hasnt won a game since his rant. I hope we can give them more to think about next weekend. I think obviously both manager's need a result badly. If we win and the Mancs slip, we can go top again. I can barely believe that given our recent form, but it would be amazing edit: didnt deface the scouse king's name automatically, so i changed it Edited January 25, 2009 by TheWestwayWonder
clubhappy Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I'd settle for a draw considering we cant defend simple free kicks or corners and going forward we lack quality. Right now its a good time to play them considering were coming off the back of 2 , hopefully 3 straight wins.
