Was really rather sad. You could see he was still pretty cut up about his motorcycle accident all those years ago, and how hard it has been for him to mentally recover from it. His career, understandably, pretty much nosedived after the accident, and it seems pretty certain he will never be a top footballer again.

Just thought it was such a shame, as he seems like a decent bloke and had a lot of promise as a youngster. I remember being very impressed by him at Palace (?) and Blackburn.

I guess having been in a coma for 6 days he should just be happy he is alive and kicking, but it must be so hard to look back at a career that promised so much, and think what might have been if that taxi hadn't hit him.

I saw it Tim and really felt for the lad. Seems a really nice fella whose having to battle with mental problems caused by the accident. As you say, at the time, his career promised so much.

Must add though, having first hand experience of how they drive out there, that deciding to see the sites of Rome on a scooter wasn't the best idea.

I didn't see it but remember he played a blinder for Palace against us, before signiing for Blackburn and wanted us to sign him.

He completely dipped off the radar and I wondered why I hadn't heard much of him lately.

What a shame and a waste of talent.

Very sad interview really felt for the bloke .

We got me was the circumstances leading up to the accident . If he had joined the England world cup squad as promised rather than Martin Keown he wouldn’t have even been in Italy………….strange thing fate.

Bet he is pig sick watching Joey Barton ............
