Posted August 4, 200915 yr Twente v Sporting Lisbon chance to see how Stoch does in the champions league
August 4, 200915 yr I've got a more patriotic reason to follow Twente. Nikolay Mihaylov is in goal for them. He saved their collective asses in the away fixture by coming on at the 30-ish minute, saved a penalty straight away and made c number of important saves throughout. EDIT: For those watching the game, Rajkovic is No.5 and Stoch is No.15. Edited August 4, 200915 yr by Virosh
August 4, 200915 yr I see they're winning, good. At work right now so can't watch, but how are they looking?
August 4, 200915 yr High drama in Twente. Sporting scored in the 5th minute of extra time to progress and that goal was nothing short of a footballing phenomenon. Next to last minute of ET, Sporting have a corner left of goal. As a Moutinho prepares to cross the ball, the Sporting goalkeeper Rui Patricio waves him to wait up and joins in the mash-up inside the box. When the cross comes, it goes to him, he beats his man to the ball, but the header is weak, the Rajkovic (our boy) attempts to clear it two meters away from goal, miskicks it and it goes past the keeper in the corner. Stoch did well from what I saw, looked lively and has an amazing control of the ball as well as speed, but he may need to improve on his decision-making. The talent is there. Very sad for our two (in my case three) boys. The would have had an excellent shot at the group stages had they progressed, but luck plays a part in the game and they were unlucky tonight. I hope this is not the way my favourite teams go. Tomorrow Levski play at pretty much the same circumstances and if we lose out to an ET goal, like us and Twente have done, it will be a sad walk home. Edited August 4, 200915 yr by Virosh
