sweet waffle Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 AVATAR takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, AVATAR delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story. Avatar trailer I like the look of it, certainly looks like the kind of film that demands to be seen on the big screen.
Ruh Buh Juh Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 It looks like Star Wars, re-vamped. I'm definitely going to see that. Another film I absolutely can't wait for is District 9. Looks completely different to anything I've seen, so I'm really excited for it!

I also want to see which was released last month in the UK.
mad_mac Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 District 9 has come out already in the states, and there as not been a bad word said about it. It's by peter Jackson, right? Same bloke that did the Lord of te Rings trilogy. However, I've also seen some of his early films like "Bad Taste" so I'm sure a brilliant director with a mind like that could really make a great film Scott

Maksimov Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) Neill Blomkamp directs District 9, Jackson produced it. It's based on Blomkamps short movie Alive in Joburg: Blomkamp was suppose to direct a movie based on the Halo videogames(with Jackson as the producer) but something happened and they couldn't do it, so they did this film instead. I think this short movie was the reason he got the Halo job. Edited August 22, 2009 by Maksimov
