When to see The XX last night and first off they made me feel old; bands are getting younger and younger (and the crowd). What happened to driving up and down the country for 5 years sharpening one's skills before releasing an album. And saying that, they played well but are really restricted live with only one album in the baggage. Have a distinct sound that seems to mix the Cure's dark period (Pornography) with a whiff of Joy Division (feels heinous saying that). It'll be interesting to see how they develop with their next few albums.

Great band. One of my fav albums of 2009. Bit of a dubstep influence too. Though I dont agree about the JD comparison link at all Tim!

Where did you see them by the way ?

They have just curated an audio sculpture of the album at The Vinyl Factory in London. Im hoping to catch it when im down for the Arsenal game in a few weeks.
