lildane Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Pls can someone tell me why inter vs chelsea match not holding today. I've been looking for reasons all over the internet why our match is not to take place. I want to know when it is to be played, was looking forward to d match since beginning of the year.
geezer Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 The match is next week because UEFA won't allow matches played on consecutive nights at the San Siro which seems sensible given there would be four sets of fans milling around town - AC and Inter plus the Mancs and us - wouldn't make for harmonious relationships

charierre Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 The matches are being staged in groups of 2 instead of 4 to give more potential TV coverage to the masses, alloowing more revenue to be gained from sponsors and ads.

Spread out the matches over 2 weeks and your schedule is less congested meaning more people watch individual matches (IE every EPL fan watched Man U last night, and didnt have to decide between watching them or another EPL team) and this creates more TV money!!!!!

Bit patronising Mr B :P Of course money is the reason for spreading the games over two weeks but had we been playing someone else it would have been quite probable our game may have been played tonight or maybe even last night. There still would have been games next week and therefore TV money would not have been affected at all would it? The fact is the authorities in Milan, and not for the first time realise they cannot cope with the fanbases of such large team converging on their city at the same time hence our game was one of the ones chosen for the 2nd week. I put it to the jury it is you who is being naive young sir and that you should be sentenced to spending a whole evening listening to Celine Dion cd's. :D And by the way not every EPL fan watched the mancs last night - I was one of those who didn't - can't stand the f**kers Edited February 17, 2010 by geezer
