chelsea rotterdam Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 (edited) looking back at the bad old days( 80/90 for me) one thing i wanted was us to be safe from the drop Just looking at the table and because of our win yesterday and bolton losing we are safe for another year!!!! and it's only february...let's kick on now and win something ;) Edited February 21, 2010 by chelsea rotterdam
MKBlue Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I noticed that yesterday as well but thought we needed one more point for safety, or Bolton and Burnley to drop a point each, still nail biting time for a little while.
bluevale2 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Well i'm glad that its not only me. How envious I was of teams like the Arse and the Ratmunchers in those days, who never had to worry about being relegated. Hopefully we have now joined this exclusive club!
Barry Bridges Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 looking back at the bad old days( 80/90 for me) one thing i wanted was us to be safe from the dropJust looking at the table and because of our win yesterday and bolton losing we are safe for another year!!!! and it's only february...let's kick on now and win something :P Its good to keep things in perspective! Thats why even in years like last year where we could of won big silver and didnt (other than FA) I get upset but not too down because I think of all the prior seasons where we would of killed for such a finish! Same with my Hockey/NHL team. My local team has a bunch of bandwagon(plastic) fans due to this huge run in 04 where we almost won Stanley Cup (Its the only trophy you can win at the end of the season, no domestic cup or CL equivalents in the NHL) and well should of (long sotry :P) and ever since we've made the playoffs but got bumped out first round. Plastic fans call for our General Managers(GM) head and call the team trash while us true fans keep cheering them on beacuse we were around and remember that before he joined us in 04 we hadnt made the playoffs in nearly a decade and back then the stadium was half empty on a good attendance night. Since then always sold out! 03/04 was a fantastic year for my 2 favourite sport franchises! Just grateful one of them went on to enjoy continual success in winning trophies!
MKBlue Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Apologies to Rotterdam, we were safe after yesterday's results. I hadn't taken into account Bolton having games in hand on the teams above them, Portsmouth, Hull and Wolves can't catch us after yesterday, and add Burnley to that after today, so 16th at worst. Carefree.
