From the Telegraph:

Alex wants to be blue for life

Chelsea's Brazilian defender Alex has revealed he wants to finish his career at Stamford Bridge.

The centre-half joined the Blues on the eve of the 2007 Barclays Premier League season after three years playing in Holland at PSV Eindhoven.

The Brazil international signed a new deal last season to extend his stay for a further four years and now says he wants to remain at the club for life.

"To be here is a good feeling, it's very important for me and I'm very happy," said Alex.

"In my career I never expected this, that one day I would come to play in England for a big team like Chelsea and complete 100 games.

"I'm very happy and hope to stay here for a long, long time and play for 200 or 300 games. This season I have been here longer than PSV, it feels like home and I hope I can stay here for the rest of my career."

If he wins a few more titles with us, and is part of a winning ECL team, he'd be in with a shot.

I love the understated defensive pairing of Brana and Alex. With Terry, they provide an immensely powerful defensive unit.

His free kicks are insane.

I'm not sure about calling him a legend as that label gets thrown about so easily sometimes

I quite agree. This is why I added Legend in the making? as the description. He hasn't achieved enough, or been here long enough to merit legendary status, but this might well change if he fulfills his stated intention of finishing his career at Stamford Bridge. Time will tell.

Ooops! I forgot to add the word "yet" to my post. If he finishes his career at Chelsea, then I'm sure he has done well enough to be considered a legend. But like I said... At least those freekicks will surely be remembered.

Just watched the highlight of his free kick against Liverpool in the CL a couple years ago. When they show him in slow motion pumping his fist, it is priceless. Great Moment. Great Kick.

Watching the Alex's FK against Liverpool in Europe sent shivers up my spine. He's absolute class and he will be missed over the next two months.
