Can we win the 2013 CL?

Obviously this seems premature and we don't even know who the manager is or if we will make it out of the group stage but surely the fact it's at Wembley and the embarrassing CL campaigns by the other English clubs will act as extra incentives to go on and win this competition.

Drogba is irreplaceable but if we can somehow find a striker (albeit Torres) that can be near as potent as Didier we have a chance. I'm sure Ramires, Meireles, JT and Ivanovic will have an extra incentive to get to another final after the disappointment of this year. We have a way of playing which other European teams even Barca can't deal with.

I'd like to think we could at least make the last 16 and I'm sure City, Arsenal and United will do this time around as well and as we have cross-country immunity there's a big chance one of us could draw Barca or Real and knock them out early and from then on it's open game.

Look at the FA Cup, don't win one for 27 odd years and then we win 6 in a decade and a half. Maybe winning it once will give us that extra belief. Prior to Saturday it was a shadow which had loomed over the club. Now maybe we can win it again?

Maybe the weather and our recent cup successes have got me optimistic but I'm strangely optimistic about the CL next season, which I have have been in the past for obvious reasons. Depends what we do over the summer though, but our defence is as good as any in Europe.

Let's first see who is on the team, who is the manager, how the team is gelling, and the draw before we start talking about the 2013 CL.

Besides, the 2012 CL was tough enough to win. There needs to be more celebration about that victory until july!

Lets put it this way..Dont know if we will win it again..but....we certainly have broken our mental taboo and will probably not fear anyone again in the competition..Actually we have the psychological momentum as teams we play will be aware of our capabilities..They will and should fear us

Yea lets not get greedy eh!

I would guess at least the next two seasons will be transitional. We had a spine to the team since 2004, that's now been broken (or at least a big bit broken off the end)

We have no choice but to start building again, hopefully RDM will be the man to do that.

I'm just happy I've seen it once, in my lifetime.

Anything else is a bonus.

my sentiment exactly....

but the rebuilding has started with Didi, Bos and Kalou heading out of the club maybe a few more to follow..
