Posted February 12, 200718 yr With our involvement in the Carling Cup final and the rescheduling of games for Sky United will not get to play 2 more games before we play again. Both are games that we, as optimistic Chelsea fans, would look at as possible places for them to drop points. When you look at the last 11 games there really aren't that many that you can see United failing to win on current form. Even if we manage to beat them at the Bridge we will need them to drop at least 4 points more (their goal difference is way superior) and that is assuming we win all of our games. Based on that I think if United come out of these next 2 games 12 points ahead they are virtually home and dry. I realise that there will be 9 games left and much can happen but realistically we would have a mountain to climb at that point. With that in mind lets hope our neighbours at Fulham can take at least a point off them next weekend. If that happens it might just put United under some pressure going into the cauldron at Anfield and who knows what could happen from there......
February 12, 200718 yr Call me cynical if you like, but the idea of the cottagers doing us a favour is a bit like expecting Wenger to call Henry a cheating t**t!! it just isn't going to happen, I fully expect Fulham to do the same as the spuds, IE, make a bit of a show of it for about 30 Min's (or less!) and then......total capitulation. If I am proved wrong,(and I would love to be!) I will be the first one to hold my hands up and say sorry to all Fulham fans everywhere(yes BOTH of them!) but can't see it.

United lost to West Ham, so they aren't invincible, and with Van der Sar out, you never know.

Looking at the run in i think chelsea have the easier games, ( i know no game is a foregone conclusion ) I just think United having to play away to Chelsea (possible 6 pointer),Scousers and sh*tty, swings the run in to favour chelsea. Also both teams are still invovled in the Fa Cup and Champions League ,and progression in those competitions will make it harder for either team.
February 27, 200718 yr If Utd win against Liverpool, the title all but mathmatically is theirs, it will be a massive phsycological boost for them to be 12 pts ahead. However, if they lose, to an inform Liverpool, the gap will remain at 9 points, with Chelsea about to play Portsmouth. The gap could be cut to 6 points, with Chelsea still having 1 game in hand by Sat evening. A massive phsycological boost for US!! Judging their performance V Fulham they're creaking a bit already. There is no fat lady singing just yet. And alhtough it pains me to say it........c'mon Liverpool!
