Support Local vs Non Local

Lived most my life up north. Something about the blue kit when i was a little one got me supporting them i guess. I have since moved and lived in london for the past 4 years, chose it for my university so i could get down for a few matches, hasn't happened yet due to money problems aswell as difficulty finding the time and tickets. Have been on the stadium tour and been to the bridge a couple of times for a walk around, i was actually there and talking to sky sports news on the day of Joses return (off camera). Seen them play away as it was much easier to get a hold of tickets.

Another thing I get is I'm supposedly an armchair fan as I've never been to the Bridge. I've simply never been able to afford it, with having a mortgage and planning on starting a family it doesn't seem likely anytime soon either. I've been lucky to have seen Chelsea play away a few times so at least I've gotten to see them live but in all honesty I've always preferred to watch football on TV anyway as I think you get a better look at the game and I really hate travelling. I also hate the attitude of people who go see the game think they are more of a fan simply because they go to the Games and don't consider a persons personal commitments etc

You prefer to watch games on TV over watching it live at the stadium.

Incredible, you have no idea what you're missing out on. The atmosphere at the Bridge is quite simply incredible, especially at those big games.

At times I do yes but I like to see everything and as I said I like the commentary. It's just a genuine opinion, a I prefer to watch films at home than at the cinema to, nothing wrong with it just the way I am.

It's kind of like my idea of a good night is to sit in watch a film eat some good food, whereas some people like to go out on the lash.

Guess thats fair, but you really don't know what you're missing out on. My first game, I also felt it would be better on TV seeing as more camera angles, commentary, replays etc...

But once you're actually there in the stadium with 42000 others, its a completely different story

I will get there someday as I said.

Born in Plymouth, grandad supported argyle. old man supports Chelsea, literally never had a choice when I was growing up. Wore my Argyle shirt on Saturdays and my Chelsea shirt on Sunday's. Got plenty of stick from United and arsenal fans at school but fair play to my dad and grandad they made sure my support for both was unwavering. Thank f**k they did.

Brief history of the 'eyebrow.

Born in Park Royal aka Harlesden. No real family ties to a club other than Brentford, my family are from Ireland and moved to London in the 60's. My grandad and uncle went to Griffin Park but moved back to Ireland so no real tie for me but I always follow the Bees fortunes. I went to school in Kilburn and a school pal there asked me and a mate did we fancy going to Chelsea one Saturday it was back in 1986/87 (I actually can't remember the exact year, a bit worrying) I remember relegation, closed terraces. Anyway became a member and when I was 16 travelled home and away on my gas board apprentice wages.

Moved away to Ireland about ten years ago but the distance hasn't done anything to my love for this wonderful club. My girls are Chelsea fans in a majority of Utd and 'Pool fans, they know what we are.

I was born in Wembley. Since my family moved to Fulham. I supported Brentford as a child. Then Chelsea signed Ruud Gullit (my favorite all-time player) and from there my allegiance belonged to Chelsea. I was 9 years old when that happened  ::ChELSeAFaN::  :JC_doubleup:
