I thought Patrick Bamford did an excellent job in the Championship last season, scoring 17 goals was quite and effort and Boro nearly made it to the Premier League as a result. On the back of that, it appeared that the player might be ready to play his part in the Premier League.

 

Of course, that will happen following his loan to Crystal Palace - but I can't help feel that he could have been an asset to us. Think his natural progression is to now prove himself in the PL. Going from M'boro to Chelsea is a bit too much at this stage i feel. SHould he score goals this year, no doubt he will be in the plans for next season.

I think the loan is good for him. He would be our 3rd striker so he wouldn't get much game time, and the pressure at Chelsea is much higher than at Palace. He needs to show he can fight for his place at Palace and he can do that.
