Izanagi Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/chelsea-football-fraud-hmrc-investigation-newcastle-west-ham-united-grounds-raided-a7703541.html Apparently we were 'visited', not 'raided' as Newcastle and West Ham were, by HMRC yesterday. “In connection with its wider investigation HMRC has requested certain information which the club will provide". Hopefully nothing major in it and we're just helping HMRC out.
Batshuayi Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/hmrc-officers-visited-chelsea-request-10298790 Apparently the club is being questioned as part of the Tax Fraud investigation that saw Newcastle's MD arrested yesterday. Along with us and Newcastle, West Ham have also been questioned. Interestingly enough the same investigation is going on in France & with Marseille. All three clubs have had dealings with Marseille in the last couple of years... Hopefully nothing to be overly concerned about.
strider6004 Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Interesting no raids or arrests like the others just requesting information.
Zola Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Cant be having a scandal in the papers with at least a token gesture to try to tar Chelsea can they?
SydneyChelsea Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) I suspect that HMRC is looking for Chelsea's documentation regarding certain player signings to see if the values on our books match what other clubs have declared to the tax offices. The solution is to remove the provision for undisclosed transfer fees. Make it public knowledge so that the tax liability is publically known. Edited April 28, 2017 by SydneyChelsea
