July 31, 20187 yr So apparently it's good manners to introduce oneself here. I'm Ilya. I came to the UK in '96, looked around, Chelsea was hands down the most fun team to watch back then, so I started following them. I still think of the late 90s as the good old days for the club, but you know ... we've had some OK times during Abramovich era too. I've been to Stamford Bridge a few times over the years, but not really a regular - more of a TV football fan. I could claim busyness, kids, etc - but to be honest I prefer it that way. Will no doubt be considered blasphemy by most, but I don't really like the atmosphere of 50K angry people shouting abuse at the ref. A pub, a pint and a few dozen people shouting abuse at the ref is much more enjoyable.
July 31, 20187 yr Welcome to the forum, Ilya. One thing I particularly like about going to a stadium is the sound of the chairs, smashing back, when everybody jumps up simultaniously when something exciting happens
July 31, 20187 yr Welcome, one less match going fan is one less person to compete against in the dreaded Virtual Waiting Room! Where are you from?
