I do agree with you, but how different was it back then, we didnt have any expectations #1, but that meant the opposition didnt expect it either, i cant remember teams playing us with 11 players behind the ball, sat deep in their half waiting to counter attack, it was a lot more open back then.

I agree, Charlton used to make it difficult playing ultra-defensive yet that was seen as unusual, I guess this was before the big money came into the game.  

Makalele got the single winner there in 2005.
