Very Disappointing Performance today, I am sure you're all well aware of that, but my worry is that we don't seem to be learning from it.

This is one of several results this season against very Poor opposition where we should have come away with something. Yes, we cant always get the right result, but Newcastle were woeful today, and had they performed like that against Liverpool or City it would have been horrific for them.

It's ok having 70% possession, but only if you do something with it, we clearly lack creativity and the repetitive side to side passing mirrors much of last season.

I have every faith in Frank, but he has a massive job on his hands, its ok going with Youngsters as long as they learn from defeats? I am of the opinion that 70% of this Squad falls short of the standard that Chelsea have been Accustomed to in recent years, and the Youngsters if they are to prevail need better quality around them than we currently have.

If we want to finish top six and do nothing in Europe then we are heading in the right direction, I Hope we want more than that.

I think we are hampered by the poor quality of what is currently available on the market relative to what we have in the squad.

Possibly, we don't need to rush into any purchases, but we do need to invest,

Isco if available for 50m would be a snip imo, that would be enough for us to finish top 4 in such a sub standard premiership, then invest in the summer.

That's actually what came to my mind a few days ago. I wanted lampard to open the cheque book in January but looking at the options available, or the players other top teams are linked to, it doesn't seem like there are a lot of players available that will improve our squad

Werner is Leipzig's talisman and is currently smashing them in from everywhere with Leipzig every chance of winning the Bundesliga. Would be a huge achievement. I can't see him leaving  there until the summer.

He played off the main striker last night on the left and scored an absolute stunner plus another. He's a good player but I still have my questions about his fit with us. Note that Bayern aren't interested because they don't think he'd work for them, as teams send to sit deep and crowd the box.

I don't think there is an easy fix to the issues. Not in the transfer market. We're still doing okay. The key challenges are systematic ones. More O watch Frank the more his style reminds me of his Uncle Harry. Great to watch in patches but very inconsistent. He's still young and learning as are plenty of the squad. Lets hope we can hang on in the top four and keep progressing as we enter the summer.

The article on 365 also questions the fit with us too, saying Werner does not really lead the forward line which begs the question would we change formation to fit him in?

If we go for fitting him in, then surely a question becomes why didn't we try Bats as a second striker.

I think that is why he doesn't really work for Germany and why Bayern aren't interested. For me he is a great leader of a high press. He is great one on one and with any space but that is so much harder in England where teams sit deeper. I think we'd have to play him and Tammy together in a front two or play Werner off the left. Leading the line alone without lots of close support would be hard for him.

Sounds like he would be more of a replacement for Mount in the current set-up.

I think we'd have to alter the set up. He'd help lead the press with Mount more likely. But in any case whether it's a good idea or not you're not leaving a club that could win their first ever title halfway through the year not when you have been their talisman for as many years as Werner has been.
