Tim W Posted October 1, 2008 Share Posted October 1, 2008 Taken fron the Fiver (Guardian football thing) Jesper Gronkjaer's goal against Liverpool in May 2003 was memorable not merely because it came from the Dane's first ever shot on target but because it qualified Chelsea for Big Cup and thereby convinced Roman Abramovich to move into Stamford Bridge. Thus began Chelsea's golden age, of which the latest instalment comes tonight in Transylvania, a fact that intensifies the irony given that Gronkjaer's speciality during his time at Stamford Bridge was delivering crosses that even vampires wouldn't fear.
