The lazy bunch that is my national team

As I am writing this, Bulgaria is losing 1:4 away to Serbia at half time. The Serbs have missed two penalties and a myriad of other chances and only luck and the goalie (who can, btw, walk into most Premiership sides - he is that good) have prevented this from turning into a double digit result.

Our defense is collection of decorative bowling bowls, the midfielders seem to be competing who to give the ball away faster, and Berbatov just walked out of the pitch near the corner flag at around the 30 min mark - no explanation whatsoever.

This is a hard time to be a Bulgarian football fan. I desperately need our Chelsea to save me from hanging my football self.

Somebody please tell me any reason I should even be bothered how they do ? All of them - they give f*** all for the team and nothing seems to change. International football is turning into such a joke. I officially turn my back on them. As of now, I couldn't care less what happens to my national side. :sadwalk:

I feel your pain Virosh. I hope Finland show a bit more effort tonight...even if it's just a friendly.

You will always have a sympathetic shoulder to cry on, Maksimov. We could perhaps form an ADFF - Anonymous Disappointed Football Fans. We could have regular meetings and all : "It has been 3 months I have been abstaining form international football." "Godd for you, Virosh, we all know how hard quitting is."

I can dream.

Hmmm...a few youngsters started the match, so it was pretty interesting to watch even though the quality of the match wasn't very high. The pitch was horrible and the referees didn't have the best of games, although I must say we benefited more from it in form of bad offside decisions. Jääskeläinen pulled off some magnificent saves and we did have a few good chances to score. Ziegler scored with a cracking shot and didn't leave Fredrikson(he replaced Jääskeläinen at halftime) much chance. The Swiss were better in the first half and probably deserved to score. I think Finland probably were better in the second half, but the Swiss scored. As Grant would say: "but that's football".

At least our U-21's beat Wales last night, so there were some good news for Finnish football fans.

I was offered free tickets to Rep of Ireland v Poland , couldnt be arsed to be honest and im not interested in friendlies . We lost 3-2 and from the little i saw , we have about as many good players as Bulgaria . Northen Ireland , not that i give a f**k about them , lost 2-0 at home to hungary and the half time report suggested the first half was as entertaining as the TV test card.

friendlies are not a problem for us. for example last august we beat italy 3-1. fantastic, but it doesn't really matter when we're capable to lose against malta in a qualifying match...

anyway, we clearly were the better side yesterday, so huray for the boys and koeman(erwin, the older brother), but i'm afraid as usual this won't last long.
