I know there are a few members who believe that Lukaku won't be a Chelsea player next season and a majority who think he will return. While I was checking a couple things I couldn't help but notice Lukaku's info on Twitter says, "Belgian international of Everton football club." Typically I wouldn't be interested by this, but if memory serves me correct last season his info said Chelsea player on loan at West Brom. Any thoughts? Or is it just what it is?

I want to preface by saying I don't necessarily think loaning lukaku outweighs keeping him, but it might and there may be good reasons. 1. Lukaku wouldn't be guaranteed the same play time here and that might change his form. 2. Our AMs think they are strikers half of the time and so the service would be much different than he's getting at Everton. 3. Lukaku at Everton has drawn liverpool and arsenal and beaten ManU. These results benefit us. Going back to my preface, there is a chance his contributions here could have outweighed the positive results of having him at Everton, but my points 1 and 2 suggest that he may not have performed as well here.

We looked pretty good tonight, Madrid was just on fire. I loved what I saw from van G and Torres looked pretty able.

Agreed. We easily could have had 8+. Donovan has been a big influence in each game. I think Wando might get a bench spot for the World Cup team behind JA and EJ.

I guess I should have posted here first, but nonetheless I'm glad to be here to get more involved with my beloved blues. I'm relatively new to following the sport religiously but ever since I can remember I've been attracted to Chelsea for some reason. I won a signed kit from EA Sports a year ago and I knew it was meant to be.

I trust Mourinho, and if he wants Rooney (proven in the prem) over Cavani (proven in serie a) then who am I to say who's a better fit for what Mourinho wants?

Honestly, the more I think about it the more I am coming around to having Rooney. JM obviously knows what he is doing (much better than most if not all of us) and I trust whatever it is he sees in Rooney and has seen for years. When he performs he is a top class player, and I can get over having a rivals player if they help our team.

I think it was nice to finally see the US perform as they should. I'm tired of hearing "You should win by three or more" and ending up in a 2-1 victory or a draw.

In my opinion there are a few "issues" with signing Rooney... He's won basically everything, what can we offer him besides money (since that can only motivate someone for so long)? What happens if he does not perform? If he sits does he throw a fit and want out? What is there for him to complete with us that he did not feel was completed at ManU? He's a great CF, sometimes overrated imo, but I do not think we need him.

Honestly, I think that because we missed out on the main 3 we should hold off on purchasing a striker this year. Lukaku is as much of a gamble as Benteke (when it comes to chance of success), and we already have Lukaku. Pair him with Torres, sell Ba, and see what happens up front. I think if Torres has someone up front with him he will perform better.
