  1. Well, just don't throw too much money at it, it will never work.
  2. Doesn't take a genius to figure out why that would irk you Mr. Spud, know your place (i.e in our shadow).
  3. By the time the Chinese billionaire is done investing in Southampton, they probably would have quadrupled their fan base. If they start winning trophies as well, they would probably need to build a new stadium to accomodate the glory hunters. Let's face it, all the sugar daddy clubs have exponentially increased their fan base and it ain't no coincidence either!
  4. Well done guys, that was a good match. Totally destroyed United, I didn't expect anything less from Mourinho at the Bridge. I hope we can get something away from there.
  5. Exactly, society in general sees racism as the absolute worst possible insult, nothing else comes even close. Once you are accused of racism, your reputation is basically finished in nearly every sphere of life.
  6. Yep. It seems he's more concerned with trying to attract more customers overseas than satisfying the ones on his doorstep.
  7. From what I've heard he's an excellent signing.
  8. Thanks for addressing it and giving me your perspective, it was a good read. I don't necessarily agree with it but I'm glad you've addressed the point I made.
  9. The thing is, you and I clearly see football differently, I mean in my own opinion I would say that you (and many others I assume) feel too emotionally attached to a colour. I'm not going to ridicule you because of that, you have every right to be like that, but I have a similar passion for the actual football that is being played rather than what the players are wearing, which is why I made that Pulis remark earlier. Just like you said you feel "hurt" if Chelsea switch from the colour the blue, I would feel similarly "hurt" if we played stoke-like football. Just like you "grew up" with the colour blue, I "grew up" with the football we play now. So yes, it might seem strange for you that I am passionate about the football, but it seems strange for me that you're emotionally attached to a colour.
  10. Interesting how you decided to address my personal criticism of you but shirked away from contesting the very idea that your owner simply didn't care about what the majority of your own fans thought about the managerial issue. Thanks for that.
  11. Apparently changing the name of the club so that the word "Tigers" appears somewhere allegedly makes the club more marketable and thus would bring in extra revenue, whether that is true or not, I don't know, it's a good question, but if it does bring in more revenue, that would be a good thing. He has the right the change the name though last time I checked that's what I said. As for changing the colours from blue to red, are they supporting the club or simply the colour blue? Clubs change shirts and colours all the time, the away shirt colours change every season or so, why are home shirts holy again? They're not. How has changing the colour diminished the value of the club? We can go around in circles all day, a club is more than a piece of colour from a rainbow, I would still support my club if it changed Red to Purple, the question is would you?
  12. Ah yes, argument from emotion and ad-hominem to boot! Hahaha That's really all some people come up with, petty insults masquerading as incredible logic. Check the edit of my previous post if you can read it and comprehend it that is. Oh and if you can point me an instance where I have said that owners should be able to do "whatever the f**k you want" I would be delighted to read it.
  13. Are you being serious? EDIT: You of all people should know that owners sometimes do what they want regardless what the majority of the fans want and not just that, but they have the right to do that. I wonder how many Chelsea fans wanted the one they call the "fat spanish waiter" to manage Chelsea? I used to check on this forum at the time infrequently and the amount of abuse that was levelled at him was unrivalled. Abramovic turned a blind eye to all his critics and he did what I would now say is-in fact- the right decision.
  14. Well, owners already have the right to sign sponsorship shirt deals with anyone, what if Abramavic decided to sign with a company whose name is "ass hair salon" and its stuck on all your shirts? We can play this childish hypothetical 'what if' game all you want. Doesn't prove a damn thing. Owners have the right to change not just the colours, but the name too and also the location of the training facilities/ stadium whether you like it or not. Unrealistic hypotheticals haven't stopped them before. What if Arsenal relocated to Coventry instead of the current location after Highbury? Is that your next question?
  15. Giroud's name is sung pretty much every match he plays, criticism of him is loud only on cyberspace to be fair, he has earned respect amongst the vast majority of our fans but yes, it is true that some people don't like the type of striker he is (me included), the way he plays places a ridiculous level of burden on our attacking mids, he has back to goal on most of the play and also drops quite deep as he's very limited in his ability to beat an offside trap or run off the last defender. He clearly isn't an RVP type player or even Adebayor whose pace was very quick especially off the last man and on the break. Giroud's strength solely lies in winning the ball in the air and bringing attacking mids into play. In other areas, he's rather average. I love his work rate though, he gives everything.
  16. I agree with Robbie Savage on this, I just cannot fathom how Vincent Tan has made a "mockery" of Cardiff or how it is detestable for Allam to amend Hull City's name, these guys own the club, they've invested quite heavily especially Allam, they have every right to change the colours or change the name, that's the least they should be able to do, I don't understand how people can whine about that, it's not like he's moved their stadium to somewhere different for profitability purposes...oh wait, clubs have been doing that for ages.
  17. This transfer window is make-or-break time for us gooners. If we see the likes of Draxler, Gustavo join us, that's a game-changer right there. As long as we continue to rely on Giroud up front and the likes of Arteta in the middle, we're not going to win the league it's as simple as that. Arsenal have already identified the weaknesses in the team, let's see if something is actually done about it or we endure another trophyless season again. Ozil has solved our attacking midfield problems, no we need to solve the other two positions.
  18. That's ok. I meant exactly what I said, it's got nothing to do with league position, as long as I could enjoy watching my team I will support them no matter where they are in the league table. Look at Swansea, they have little chance of winning anything anytime soon and yet that is a team I would be very proud of supporting if I was Welsh. The fact of the matter is, Arsenal also have little chance of winning anything, we haven't won anything for 8 years and I genuinely don't believe we will win anything this year either, but that doesn't matter to me. It's a disgrace for anybody to base their support around results and trophies in my opinion. But the team has to be watch-able at the very least.
  19. I hope to God he isn't well enough to play against Atletico http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3277/la-liga/2014/01/10/4535202/martino-messi-might-miss-atletico-clash?ICID=HP_BN_2 Barca and Real have shamelessly gobbled up the revenue from the TV rights in Spain thereby rendering the entire league a non-competition, if it's one thing that wretched league deserves, it's a title to Atletico Madrid.
  20. I would jump ship if we dropped down the leagues? Is that what I said? I didn't know that hahaha It's amazing how some people shamelessly lie, not just online btw.
  21. How the hell am I "picking a fight" with you? I just asked you a question in a light-hearted way, If asking questions is "picking a fight" I honestly don't know what you're doing here Stim. Calm the f*** down.
  22. ...which is my point.... aren't you the one that accused me of slagging off Mourinho and then just ran off without so much as a goodbye? ;)
  23. I don't know if you're a mod but it takes balls for you to come out with that, I've acted just as "respectful" as this forum demands. And the only reason why it's blatantly obvious I'm an Arsenal supporter is because I let other people be known that I am. You would never have guessed had I not said a word about the team I support because the fact is, I didn't come on this forum to discuss Arsenal but football in general. That's just not true, in fact I had a much more civilised debate about it on gooner forums. In any case, I don't go to forums like this one to seek popularity and approval from people I don't know. You're taking things way too seriously and over the top. Chillax. Good Lord.
  24. oh the irony almost plays out like a joke, two trolls enter the shed...
