  1. Bloody hell, I started watching 30 mins into the game. My surprise when I saw the score...I wish I'd have seen it
  2. My favourite player of all time (along with Lampard and Terry). I can't articulate how much I love this man properly so I won't even bother. Thinking about that night in Munich still gives me shivers.
  3. Absolutely 100%. I couldn't agree more. Of the readily available strikers out there right now, I see this as the best choice. I've watched Costa nearly every game this season (the result of having no friends and a subscription to Skysports who always show La Liga on a Saturday night), and I personally think he's quality. You evidently don't rate him very highly, but I get the feeling that like most people, you are letting your dislike of his character get in the way of seeing how good he has been this season. Both Brazil and Spain fought for him, as well as numerous big clubs; clearly they see something in him that you do not. I admit I haven't seen Mandzukic other than in the Champions league, but as Lane said, I wonder why you seem so sure that he would be a great fit for us while Costa would not. Having watched him all season, my take is that Costas positive attributes are: Size (and decent pace for such size, one he's past you, that's it), Strength, very clinical finishing, decent hold up play, passion and a relentless desire to win (maybe too much at times), shows up in big games (more often than not). I think anyone else who is as sad as me to have watched Atletico 15+ times this season will surely agree with my amateur assessment of him.
  4. That was hardly a foul, let alone a yellow. Yet earlier the challenge on Ramires didn't get a red? F**k right off
  5. I don't think he should have spat on them, but I'm just saying after being pushed and kicked by two of the biggest twats in the world throughout game and the ref isn't helping you out, I can understand why he might lash out in such a way. But I definitely don't condone in. Also to the point about bringing our name down. It's maybe different where you live, but where I am just to mention the name Chelsea gets met with utter digust. I meet very few people who could have a lower opinion of us, so really what does it matter. Opposing teams don't think highly of us at all. Furthermore, my favourite player, Lord Drogba, probably had the worst reputation for diving of any player in the league when he first came here. It is a shame about all that play acting but for one I don't think that should be a reason to not sign a very suitable player, and secondly I don't think Mourinho would stand for it. I think he'd stamp it right out. However, this is all simply my opinion and I by no means claim to be all-knowledgable about football. I know how these internet discussions can go. It's all rather subjective anyway, but personally I'd be happy if we signed him.
  6. I mean, I don't see why exactly he's been given the 'd**khead' tag. But providing that he is in fact one, I fail to see why it makes a difference. Liverpool have the biggest d**khead in the world leading their line, but they obviously don't seem to mind at the moment and it's worked out well enough for them...And now to wait for someone to point out that "yeah but scousers are d**kheads themselves so of course they dont mind hurhurhur"
  7. A d**khead who can put the ball in the net. Also why is he a d**khead, because he spat at Pepe and Sergio Ramos last year after they kicked him about 20 times?
  8. So, Diego Costa anyone?
  9. Perhaps you're right. Though as I said this is merely my opinion. I don't think Balotelli is that great. Though I admit there may be others who can see things in him that I don't see, I don't watch him often anymore.
  10. All other six players on the poll + Mandzukic, Remy, Lukaku, Benzema, Hernandez, and probably others if I cared to refresh my memory of who's out there. Whether they're available becomes a sticking point, but in terms of who I'd rather see up front, there's 11 for you.
  11. This is simply my opinion of course, but I could probably reel off a list of ten strikers I would prefer over Balotelli. In fact I would much prefer Lukaku over him. He's extremely inconsistent, sulky, lazy, and a dressing room parasite. No thanks.
