1917atthebridge reacted to ddrblue in Vintage Blues pictures and filmThats how i recall following England as every other chant was against the ira > would you like a chicken supper bobby Sands ............... and no surrender to the ira ................. and the only two tunes i could play ........... the mind set following England back then was 2 nd to none > rule number one on away trips in whatever city never drink in a Irish pub ,now all the glow worms today make it the only pub they will drink is whatever
european citys Irish bar . I recall one day walking into a bar in oslo called Queens pub with 20 + chelsea the night before the game .bar was split up via a type of screen and in the other side it turned out to be a monthly meeting of the local Irish society > Word got back to us what was happening on other side of screen and the look of shock on the local Irish halfwits was pure class when boover got up on the mic to chant would you like a chicken supper bobby Sands as rest of us joined in .
Thats when loads of chelsea would follow England since the team never played in Europe ,great times might i add and some great chaps on those England trips

1917atthebridge got a reaction from Richard P in Vintage Blues pictures and filmHi Richard, yes a group of us from Hayes used to jump on a coach that started from Orpington I think, sat in the benches for a few seasons until we decided to remove them in a lively midweek game ! Travelled up to city on one of the party coaches and ended up at some hotel with Bates and more importantly Mick Greenaway. The best season ever!

1917atthebridge reacted to Boyne in Vintage Blues pictures and filmI think this picture was taken in November 1985 when we drew 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield. About 1,000 Rangers were at the game. A great atmosphere between us the 'Gers fans. It was a few months after we played Rangers at Stamford Bridge to raise monies for those affected by the Bradford City fire disaster.
I've sent a copy of the picture to my cousins who are ST holders at Ibrox and belong to Larkhall Rangers Supporters Club.
