Kalou is an excellent player, even though he appears to no be sometimes. Di Santo is not a Chelsea-quality player (at least not yet), nor is Scott Sinclair or Michael Mancienne. I like Joe Cole's ability to play on both flanks, and as a second striker, but he values himself too highly. If, as expected, Deco, Belletti, Ferreira, Ballack and possibly Carvalho leave, I think Chelsea would only need to sign two players to replace: a central/attacking midfielder and a defensive generalist. For the midfielder, someone like van der Vaart would work well, and a defensive player like... I don't know!

Honestly, I think this is the most ludicrous rumour I've heard in a long time. It's one thing to be linked with top drawer players, even when the fees are astronomically high, but Heskey? He's sh*t. He works for England because he's the only one who can hold the ball up, but for the Blues, I think he would be an abject failure (read Benjani @ City). Agree? Disagree?

I don't think Ballack or Mikel will leave. De Rossi is not just a holding midfielder, but plays similarly to Essien. Mikel is too young to leave, and Ballack too old.

If he breaks his leg, there's nothing lost. This is an investment, and there is insurance to protect against these unfortunates.

It has to be Carvalho for me. He didn't lose possession (unfortunately can't say that abound almost all the others), and he scored the goal that got us back into the match. I hope that he stays fit this season, because he is the best defensive player we have (not accounting for leadership skills), who rarely makes a mistake.

It would be great to see Lampard getting into management. I sincerely hope, however, that it is not immediately after he stops playing. It would be ideal for him to get some valuable coaching experience at the lower levels or a foreign league (maybe in the PSV setup, considering our links).
