I dont think so, Ballack would have just slotted into the midfield along side Schweinsteiger instead of Khedira. He is a better passer and dangerous presence in the box. And never ever undermine Ballack's goal record with Germany, some 40 goals in 85-90 games. That is outstanding for a midfielder. From the way Podolski and Klose have performed in this World Cup, they dont need to have a good club season. Either way every player his merits.

The Argentina squad was all wrong no midfielders. Tevez and Messi were picking balls from their own half and trying to conjure up something impossible. Mascherano is only good at brining down players. No link between defense and the forwards. Should have picked up Zanetti Cambiasso. Maradona will go back to cocaine now. I dont think there is any reason to worry, just because a desperate Arsenal got rid of Gallas and signed a replacement or Citeh showboating their money. The transfer window just opened today and we have two solid months to filter and go for the players that we need to replace the Deco's and Ballack's.
