ALL TIME FOOTBALLERS DRAFT (anyone?)
As in same as Chelsea one that footballeraholic started in the main forum but with the best players of all time, ie Maradona, Pele, Gullit etc. ??????????????? Would be a good laugh I reckon, exact same premise as the Chelsea one as I said.

Vote for your favorite Chelsea All time XI
Whats the name of the team with Crespo, Le Saux in it aint coming up on my pc screen, that'd probably get my vote thats some midlfield with hollins, lamps, essien in it! my reason? You've got Ferrer and Le Saux bombing down the wings providing width, then a very very sold midfeild with Hollins, Lamps and Essien, Gudjohnsen is a great link up man between midfield and attack and Crespo is a great striker, very intelligent. then you've got strength galore in the centre defence with Iva and alex, pretty solid looking team to me, alkthough I aint got a scooby who the goalie is?????????? Other points: I love Mod's attack pair Hughes and Greaves, that would be some f**king handful and I love bootboy's fullback pair, Steve Clarke and Dorigo are my favourite Chelsea fullbacks of ALL TIME. Final point, scoobs midfield of Jones and Wilkins would be fun to watch though, a young 18 year old ray with jones providing the bite, would have liked to see that! Looks like it was fun to do that draft.

POLL: Do you think Ancelotti should stay or go?
castiel i gotta agree with you there. mistake to let too many go last summer. once lampard got banged up we had NO goals from midfield and no cover, no if ballack had stayed on at the club............... i put down us losing the league this year to having lamps out for so long, the squad was not big enough to cope................ anyway regarding the op. Ancelloti must stay. FFS managers should be given time to bring in their own players as far im concerned he still working with mour/scolaris men.

1988 - 1992 memories
Thanks for posting that. You know whats funny, if that goal was scored by Ryan Giggs pundits would be w**king themselves dry about it, great run and what a great finish at the end. As far as manky away kits what about that jade number that we had, was pretty rank.

Remember John Spencer?
Nah not at that time I don't think. I think Spencer was a Porterfield signing in the summer of 1992, along with Robert Fleck. Who do you think was the best value for money? LOL!

Thanks. chelsea80s1.pdf ^ This one is Pat Nevin and Mickey Droy, can you recognise the other two players in the picture cos I sure as f--k can't!

Did john Bumstead ever get a testimonial?
Agreed, I don't suppose anyone has a spare programme from this game do they? As to your second point I've just written up this letter regarding that point, which I will endevour to send into Chelsea:

my soft spot for hibs is cos my old man and family hail from granton, a hibs area of north edinburgh (like battersea is to chelsea) and most of the fam are hibbys. as an aside my old mans cousins nephew (a local lad from the area) plays for hibs so you can see the family links are deep. as far as hibs flying a tricolour that is not true, hibs have never flown a tricolour from any of their stands or in any capacity at all. it was a bone of contention from celtic that then hibs chairman harry swan supported the sfa's directive to remove the tricolour from parkhead back in the early 50s. rebel songs? ive visited easter road as i said in the op v rangers and never heard any rebel songs, heard a few rule brittania pisstakes from hibs but no pro ira sh*te. and mate im not knocking individual chelsea fans from following rangers, to each their own.

good post kenny, as far as split loyalties go ive wondered how the chelsea side blues brothers reacted to when judas durie signed for the gers. personally i would never want to see that bar steward do well in the manner in which he left chelsea by lying about wanting to return to scotland as his wife was pregnant at the time and then joining tottscum. must have been hard to celebrate goals scored by someone who backstabbed chelsea. as far as hatred of celtic goes, to me theyve never really been on our radar, imo our rivals are: 1. Numero uno tottenscum then in no particular order: west ham, arse, leeds, united, liverpool. then theres other, smaller clubs we have history with like millwall, cardiff, portsmouth, boro thats more to do with off field incidents. but celtic? not even far enough up the totem poll to even get bothered about, same as QPR really.

Did john Bumstead ever get a testimonial?
One of if not my alltime favourite Blue. A club stalwart and loyal Chelsea man, definitely deserving of a testimonial cos he was at the Bridge for well over 10 years. Anyone remember if he ever had one?

Alan Hudson
The bloke is a waster, plain and simple. When we played Stoke in the cup 2002/03 season he was in the Stoke local rag saying he wanted Stoke to win, so f**k him. He thinks Chelsea is his mealticket but never shows f**k all respect to the fans or the club. Alan f**k off you are a f**king sponge, waster who never slow to slag off Chelsea. Respect and loyalty is a 2 way street.

1988 - 1992 memories
This era was unquestionably my favourite era following Chelsea, it spanned the years when I was 10-14 and still entertaining dreams that one day I could be out there playing for the Blues! Highlights: - Relegation from the old first division in the playoffs by Boro - Coming straight back up at the first time of asking with record points and goals tally - 7-0 win v Walsall (Durie scoring 5) and 3-2 at Maine Road (inflatable celery!!!!!!!!) - ZDS Cup win v Boro (Dorigo free kick!!!!!!!) - Start of our dominance at Tottenham with a 4-1 win at 3 point lane (beautiful lob by Dixon over Thorsvedt) - First win at Anfield in donkeys courtesy of a screamer by vinnie Jones - Vinnie getting booked in 4 seconds v Sheff Utd in the FA Cup at the Bridge - Getting to the semis of the Rumbleows Cup in 1991 (losing to Weds over 2 legs) and stuffing Tottenham 3-0 at the Lane en route. I'll post more when they come to mind. Thing I loved abiut this era was how many youth products we had coming through the ranks, from memory: Myers, Le Saux, Hall, Stuart, Lee, Cundy, Damian Matthew. Theres something about players coming from the youth to the 1st team that all football fans appreciate. Allright a lot of them never really done as good as expected by I DEFO saw the potential in Le Saux and was gutted when Webby sold him transfer deadline in 1993. Le Saux in his first spell at the club was really a victim of his own versatilkity as Campbell, Porterfield and Webb played him all over the place and he never really got a steady run in the side in one position, I dont think anyone really had much faith in him which is ashame as he was my favourite player at the time, I ever grew my hair out to be the same as that mop he had. Remember him throwing his shirt on the ground after being subbed Christmas 1992 v Southampton. Anyway I'm waffling, great days I'm sure you will all agree.

Fair doos mate! As long as people dont try and impose their political or religious beliefs on others through football is all im saying. To each their own and live and let live! Now lets hope we can beat those bastartds in red on their own dungheap for the second year in a row. hopefully slur alex will be slagging the ref after 90 mins.

thanks for the link coco. Yeah what its basically saying is that Celtic were synonomous with Irish republicanism so those who hated the IRA were naturally predisposed to support Rangers. I'm neither pro IRA or Rangers, imo you can find two opposing forces equally dislikeable.

More of a 70s/80s thing admittedly.........although when Chelsea played Rangers at Ron Harris testimonial (1971 I think, old man was there) major aggro between both sets of fans. Linfield was considered a part of it too. Mid 8os bradford fire friendly may have cemented the relationship too.

Those Le Coq Sportif shirts we had in the mid 80s were f**king blinding! And then Bates bought out that Chelsea colection kit the year after horrible!

The problem imo is that having "links" with other clubs is muggy. Its the sort of thing that Liverpool do. We are Chelsea, we have our own history, our own culture and our own songs. We don't need to be nor should be a pale imitation of another club.

remember this was first time seen cfc at wembley had seen england play romania there year before so not first time at the twin towers but was 7 at time, remember there being a huge crush to get in and someone scored before we got in think city went 1 up as my old man said f**king chelsea. we were in the white and city had that red and black ac milan kit. speedie got a hattrick dixon did not play as he was not fit, wasd that the year he got badly injuired in the fa cup v liverpool???? it took ob 15 minutes to figure out what pen to put us in and they eventually put me and my dad in with the city fans right up near the top, but they were sound as. typical chelsea 5-1 and cruising then had to make a game of it concededing 3 late goals...............what are your reminiscenes of this game?

I know this is a contentious issue so sensible replies only please, but would like to hear honest opinions of CFC on the Rangers link up. Personally I've got family in Edinburgh who are all Hibs and have been Easter Rd a few times to watch them when Rangers in town, all this "Billy's Boy" and "up to our knees in fenian blood stuff" is way ott to me. Football is all about football and dont see the need to bring politics, religion and the like into it. I dont personally see how Chelsea Football Club benefits from any sort of association from this sort of nonsense especially when you consider that we have had very good servants like Pat Nevin and Steve Clarke who grew up on the opposite side of it. I'm neither pro or anti Rangers or Celtic (have a soft spot for Hibs) but again think that CFC should be seen as a club for all, not based on religion, race, nationality etc. At the end of the day life is way too short for all that bollocks imo, my old man is a Jock catholic whose followed CFC since late 60s my mum is Church of England English but at the end of the day if you are Chelsea thats all that should matter. honest, sensible replies please. ps. lets do the manc's tomoroww.
