  1. Was with SR and two others coming round the corner when about 60 of them charged us. SR said stand and probably in the knowledge that loads of Chelsea were about 50 yards behind us I did. They stopped 2 yards in front of us and I copped some (watered down) amonia in the eye. We then chased after them and every time a copper grabbed me i told them the amonia part of the story and they let me carry on "which one was it lad?" . Never caught up with the c*nts!
  2. Great newspaper clippings Carshalton. After that game they tended to give us the whole end. As for the original thread title, the lowest turnout I was ever in was a nondescript league game at Grimsby late in the season when our following numbered 300-400.
  3. Think Gordon Davies at Everton Away circa 1984 was a LF, RF, header combo. Didn't Jimmy Floyd get 3 from outside the area against the Totts once?
  4. Well he certainly used to have a season ticket in the East Middle with some of his old mates, and I used it once as I knew one of those fellas. Maybe he's one of those older blokes who went down Chelsea one week and Fulham the next. Anyway, he could rarely get to games in the 80s and probably since due to his career.
  5. We had one third of the end but thousands of Chelsea couldn't get in. The flyers went out the week before meet in the Kings Head. I got on at Embankment (leaving 2 WHU mates cowering on the platform ) and that was on the first train loaded with those form the Kings Head. That train was rammed full of Chelsea and I was at the front of that lot coming out of UP station and only just made it in the ground. Hence I know for a fact that we had as many who couldn't get in as we had in there.
  6. Remember one fantastic battle at Upton Park between him and George Parris full back. The two of them went at it all day and Kev got the better of him on occasion, but Parris also did well considering the scorching pace he was faced with. Great game even though we lost. We were 1-0 up, the 2-1 down, then 3-2 up and ended up losing 5-3.
  7. Tis true. I went to it with a City mate. City equalised in the last minute to make it 2-2. Might have been an Arthur Albiston OG. I travelled down from Manchester to Wembley with him and his Dad the next day. The City fans we drove past were bemused by my hand signals out the window. Outside Wembley, we walk straight into SH who has brought his chaps round to say 'hello' to the Guvnors, it inevitably goes off. My mate then decides to take a photo of SH, who glares at him before recognising me and letting it go. Get in the ground (City End) and there are a few chaps I vaguely recognise just after I get through the turnstiles. Sure enough they're Chelsea and it kicks off again in their end soon after the game starts (from memory). By the time City score their 3 goals at the end of the game many of the Mancs have left for home. Cracking day/weekend.
  8. Hi all, I've enjoyed browsing this site the last few days. I live in Melbourne, Australia now having emigrated here 17 years ago. We have a thriving CFC Supporters club run by my mate with over 100 registered on Facebook. We watch games at ridiculous hours in a regular bar here, and get around 20-25 for a big game at a half decent time. In the double season we got around 50-60 for the four big games at the end of the season. I'd say around 20 of those on Facebook are ex-pats, mainly older yobbos like myself. The rest are young Aussies who are being shown the true way to support the club. Wherever we are, we completely outsing the opposition. We are friendly with Arsenal and Celtic (!) here, and have joint functions with the Gooners at their pub when we play them (they need a certain number to keep the place open at 3am and we oblige). We tend not to get on with the Spuds. After a few years of them outnumbering us at the pub we used to go to we finally started getting superior numbers in 2008. They tend to be cowardly w@nkers who mouth off when they are in the majority and are quiet as mice with equal numbers or less of them than us. Not much different to in London I believe! Oh yes, we are the current holders of the Melbourne Supporters Clubs pub triathlon (quiz, darts, pool). Anyway, looking forward to reading and contributing to more of the threads on here, particularly the excellent Vintage section.
