  1. The stormtroopers in Star Wars have better aim than that.
  2. Jesus f**king wept. If Hazard played for us, I'd be screaming for his head - dunno how you lot put up with him. Don't remember ever seeing a player this lazy and uninterested. Disgraceful.
  3. I dunno. When you look back at his time with us, it's not like his goals were handed to him on a plate. Yep, he was on the end of some almost telepathic passing from Gerrard for a fair whack, but I remember quite a few he manufactured completely from nothing. When he can't even beat Curtis Davies in a one on one tho, that's not the fault of his teammates. For all the troubles he's had tho, I agree with my fellow Liverpool fan a few posts up - I'd still rather have him in the side than the pair of @!@# Carroll and @#$@# Downing.
  4. Haha, probably could be a severe illness, second only to "chronic chav" in it's ability to cause frustration, hair loss, heavy drinking, and eventual despair. Can't argue with any of this, though. Lucas' challenge on Mata was him getting a big head and trying to win a ball that he couldn't really get. A foul, absolutely. A yellow would have been harsh, let alone a red. Lukaku's tackle was in a whole other league... Shawcross-esque, if you will. Dowd missed it, though, getting it completely wrong, as is his way. Agree on Carroll - he never was, nor will he be a £35 million player. Such is the joy of not being in the Champions League - we tried for Mata, Llorente, and Aguero in January, and the three of them knocked us back, so at the last minute we had to pay way over the odds for someone who was our fourth or fifth choice, at which point we were over a barrel. Take it from me, you lot finish fifth or below, and suddenly all your "Ohh, we LOVE the club, we'd NEVER leave" players are having second thoughts. Ironically, I think it's the price tag that's the cause of it all, and probably with Torres as well. Our owners went on record saying that the Torres price was basically fixed to "Whatever we have to pay for Carroll, plus £15m". If we'd have paid £20m for Carroll, and sold you Torres for £35m, I don't think either of them would be as "mentally burdened" as they are, and both would likely be performing better. So in the end, the only winner in all this is that fat c**t Mike Ashley. (That said, as a world cup and Euro winner, Torres shouldn't really feel the burden of a big price tag, but you never know...)
  5. If you mean the clash of knees with Mata (where he got injured), I don't remember it as being that bad. Certainly nothing like Lukaku's tackle on Henderson, which was a complete and utter leg breaker. Regardless tho, if you saw it differently then fair enough. Still not kosher to boo a stretchered player off the pitch - I'd expect it from the Mancs (memories of Citeh fans booing Skrtel as he was stretchered off on oxygen following a broken leg) but not from you lads. Agreed that our team wasn't any better on paper, and the reason for the win was down to character. Different setup at Liverpool, though. Outside of Suarez, Lucas, and Reina, I don't think anyone is guaranteed a place at the moment, so the lads that started last night - Bellamy, Maxi, Carragher, Coates, et al - were playing for a spot against Fulham. I get the distinct impression at Chelsea that it doesn't matter what the likes of Alex, Bertrand, Lukaku et al do, they all know that come the weekend they'll be out again, replaced by Terry, Cole, etc. Couple that with a lack of crowd noise, and the other shennanigans at Chelsea, there's hardly motivation to perform? We're still a work in progress, and we're lumbered with our own horribly misfiring overpriced striker as well. (Although he at least put in a shift yesterday, which is more than I can say for Torres.) Speaking of whom, glad he's your problem these days and not ours. The fire has well and truly gone out in him, and has done for a few seasons now. We worshipped the lad, but about two years ago he went from being a born competitor to a whining little sulk. His last season and a half with us he played just like he's doing now - general disinterest, couldn't give a toss, with the occasional flash of the Torres of old. At the moment he's doing exactly what it says on the tin. For my money, he'll be off to Spain on loan, or flogged off to Anzhi whatsit to play alongside Eto'o.
  6. Howyeh lads, greetings from a "scum" lurker. To be honest, I don't think any replacement manager is going to do any better than AVB, as long as your owner can't keep his fingers out of the pie. Vanity signings like Torres (and Shevchenko, Crespo in the past) that "need" to be shoved into the team, the constant threat of "you'd best win, or my mate Guus will be back", and the player power from the old guard mean that the Chelsea job is a timebomb for any gaffer. Just like the Liverpool job under Hicks and Gillett, you'd want to be completely mental (or extremely well paid) to want to take it on. Still though, hope you bounce back - I'd much rather see ourselves (obviously), you lot, and even (gulp) the Arse battling for the title than either of the two Manc bunches. Side note - What happened to Chelsea fans as a whole? My dad was a Blue (made growing up interesting) and always thought you lot were as passionate as us. Was absolutely appalled yesterday at the booing of Lucas as the poor lad was stretchered off, as well as the disappearing act that started with 10 minutes to go. Some of the comments in this thread are eye opening as well - with a team low in confidence, last thing your boys need to see and hear is constant criticism and people buggering off. *resumes lurking*
