Way more than 28 K at the Bridge. I’m not sure how many other clubs fiddled attendance figures to lower tax bills?
They’re always been one man upmanship amongst fans; especially with youngsters. Can imagine conversations along the lines of “ Chelsea only had 28 thousand in for an important game. Come to Spurs, we get 35 thousand “ etc etc

  5. Nice One
I think you are right. I'd expect Penders to get the cup games though, as well as no Reece after 90 minutes plus yesterday and Lavia cannot play 2 games so close together.
Maybe he sticks with Cole, Rogers and JP though. Would be safer, though I feel all of Welbeck, Estevao and Quenda need the game time to be more ready when we need to call on them.
I guess Alonso could give them Hull instead.
  6. Nice One
Expecting another strong team here like Luton.

Bobby Tambling in action against Blackburn. Just like the picture.

Bobby Tambling fires a shot narrowly over the bar, to the relief of Barcelona goalkeeper Reina.

Not sure who the opposition are, however Bobby Tambling is in their penalty box!

In the summer of 1995 the directors at Chelsea took the decision to try to attract top-quality players with experience of winning.
Signing Mark Hughes, was for me anyway, a massive statement of intent.
He certainly fitted the bill, having won Two league titles, Three FA Cups and a European Cup Winners Cup at his previous club.
Although he was never a prolific goalscorer, Hughes' powerful hold-up play helped performances improve through his first season.
However, it was not until the arrival of Gianfranco Zola that Chelsea fans saw the best of the Welshman.
The pair formed an almost-perfect partnership and were instrumental in us winning the FA Cup in 1997.
Hughes, in particular, was outstanding in the fourth round victory over Liverpool, his all-round power turning the game after coming on as substitute with us trailing 2-0.

No one loved an acrobatic volley more than Mark Hughes
The following year 'Sparky' added to his considerable trophy cabinet by winning the League Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
Although not a regular in the line-up for European games, it was his spectacular volley that won the semi-final against Vicenza with time running out.

His Chelsea career ended with a tally of 39 goals from 123 games as well as those three winners' medals.

Happy birthday to Ruud Gullit. 64 years young today.
Again, I couldn’t quite believe it, when we signed him!
