Goalkeeper Storari On His Way To Chelsea

Marco Storari is on his way to Chelsea to act as Petr Cech’s second keeper after the English club made contact with Milan about a deal, the player's agent has confirmed, and a move is not far away.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper is currently on loan at Fiorentina, but playing second fiddle to Sebastian Frey at the Viola is not giving Storari the satisfaction he needs, and perhaps a new adventure in the Premier League would be more fulfilling.

The player’s agent Claudio Vigorelli spoke to TuttoMercatoWeb regarding Storari’s move, and he quashed rumours suggesting that the deal had anything to do with 24-year-old Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

“It is not all defined, but we are awaiting confirmation sometime today. One thing is for sure, Ivanovic would not be involved in any potential deal,†revealed the agent.

Seems experienced enough to take Cudicini's place in the squad but he can never be the role model Carlo was.

If this is true and we pay ANY money at all for his services, then the club really are quite brilliantly incompetent.

Cech has potentially another 14 years left in him, I don't think a young keeper with a bit of potential is a high priority to be honest.

Not sure why Taylor and Hilario aren't sufficient cover mind.

Everything about the way our club is run now is quite frankly pathetic. Where the hell is a new winger that we so blatantly need?

I agree. It seems Scolari has given no thought to our young Welsh star. In all the games I've seen him in, he has moments of absolute brilliance. I don't see the point of having 3 main squad keepers anyway. 1 first choice keeper, 1 second shoice keeper, and a keeper in the reserves is perfectly decent cover.
