as i mentioned in the other thread we get overrun in midfield when zhirkov and ramieres both play because they are too erratic in possession and get caught dallying on the ball. so hopeful mceachran starts but i honestly can't see it Cech Bos --- Ivan --- Bruma --- Cole Mikel McEachran --- Rameries Kalou --- Sturridge --- Anelka that would be my starting line up if I was carlo

Voted for Paulo He was fantastic today. Always in the right position and not 1 ball got past him I realise I'm being a tad harsh because he isn't a CB and isn't used to the positioning but he has no defensive ability whatsoever. It's a real headscratcher when you try to think of a reason Carlo thought playing Paulo at CB would work. Anyone who watches chelsea and seen Paulo down as CB surely knew before kick off that we were in for a torrid afternoon so why couldn't Carlo????????? To be honest I think we played ok today. Zhirkov should have put us 1 up and Anelka was very close to getting to Mikel's exquisite ball over the top. The main reason we lost today was due to Ferreira. Every chance they created was down to an error from him I feel sorry for McEachran though. A guy who very rarely gives up possession and has the close control and vision to create something in a drop of a hat. He should be starting in the absence of both Essien and Lampard. We could get away with one of Zhirkov and Ramieres but not both. They are far to erratic in possession and lose out far too often. felt sorry for Kalou getting taken off at HT. Zhirkov was much worse and we could have dropped Malouda back to cover Zhirkov and left Kalou on Rameires is clearly struggling to settle - needs too much time on the ball but you can see the ability he has Mikel was poor in the first half but he was getting overrun because of the inability of Zhirkov and Rameires to find a teammate. In the second half when we were the dominant team, Mikel was good I thought. Was spreading the play all over the show Big hand for 10/10 Howard Webb though sorry I meant 1/1000. Worst refing performance since Ovrebo. Can't count the times our players got w*nkered on the edge of the pool box and play on was waved. Cole should have had a pen when Kuyt mounted him. The defining moment of his performance was a foul called against JT on Kuyt. Both going for ball and fair enough JT was late and it was a foul but he had eyes for the ball - 2 seconds earlier Kuyt looked down and pushed Cole away from the ball and sweet F A given. voted for zhirkov we were disappointing throughout and he was the only one looking close to capable of creating something incredible how teams raise their games for the big teams. 1st clean sheet under houllier and it's against the far and away top scorers in the league

not sure about the stats say after the arsenal game but before it his pass completion was 96% 3% higher than diaby who was 2nd and a fair bit higher than the rest only time he gets robbed in possession is when he gets the ball with 1 or 2 people round him and i remember even getting out of those situations quite well at times

i wouldn't say sh*te, just within himself a bit only difference between last season and this is he goes walk about more but you could put that down to having someone in the team now who can cover for him last season he had the same vision, the same composure on the ball and the same pass completion level. it's just taken someone to point it out for people outside chelsea fans to appreciate his contribution

So glad he is getting the recognition he deserves now. It's taken people too long time to get over the first impression of him (crap because he hits a few wild shots) His composure on the ball is matched by no-one in the premiership. He always picks the right pass, never putting someone in trouble and he very rarely gives it away. Not to mention he is a tank and when he has the ball at his feet players just bounce off him Provides the right balance to our team and his distribution keeps us flowing Wouldn't want any other player in the world in that role at the minute ps. I told you all so :P

This is the 1st time i have logged in in ages and i'm sure you're glad of that :P Just came on to give my vote to Mikel here. He is absolutely running the show at the minute His strength on the ball is incredible and he is stretching teams all over the place with his distribution. Everyone is in great form at the minute but Mikel is vital to giving the rest of the boys the space and time to do the damage He is becoming more and more adventurous in his play as well. Only a matter of time before he hits the back of the net and when he does you will hear me from Belfast lol The most underappreciated player in the football (not by Chelsea) I think I got a serious man crush right now :D
