Posted February 8, 200916 yr What are the 'laws' with regard to banners at football matches? Are stewards able to chuck you out for having a banner that is not offensive?
February 8, 200916 yr The ones on the MH, I'm pretty sure have just been put up without asking the clubs permission but I know there was quite a bit of trouble with them being too low and people in the back of the MH lower tier couldn't see the whole pitch because of the banner, but I think that's been sorted now. There was also the problem of the wind blowing them over so you couldn't actually see them. You also have to take them down after each match.
February 8, 200916 yr I believe the rule is 'All banners are equal but some banners are more equal than others'
February 8, 200916 yr they dont like you covering the advertising boards with banners and flags its well frowned upon

February 8, 200916 yr they dont like you covering the advertising boards with banners and flags its well frowned upon Don't the ones in the MH cover advertising boards? Or do those boards just say 'Chelsea' or something? So I would be allowed a banner that was just held up and not attached anywhere ;) Pretty certain that'll be fine. What you thinking of putting on it?
February 8, 200916 yr You can borrow The Shed End banner that went to Moscow, nice and small, fits in a carrier bag, ask Andy ;)
