Im interested in your opinions on the usual 'We have History' reaction that we get from Liverpool fans ,' We won it 5 times ' etc etc .

The reason i ask is , a mate i play football with is setting up a Liverpool forum in Dublin and i want to stir the sh*t from Tuesday . I have my own views but it would be good to have other ammunition to throw back at his members who are pool through and through but open to other fans. Meeting him today he says he's ready to accept opinions on certain teams but above all Chelsea and our lack of history, our owner , the money we've spent and our lack of a Champions League trophy . This has the makings of dog fight and i can throw the link here if anybody wants to join because its an opportunity to frighten the sh*t out of him and his members and hopefully give them a reality check.

i think you should go with this, straight to the point... when they mention money and how we bought the league, just point out that at least we won it, they spent a sh*t load and got nowhere near the league.

Agree dkw. You could also add that Fat Rafa has bought 68 players during his time there, with no league success whatsoever, so it hasn't quite be the home grown, grass roots effort that they might like to think.

5 times:

Ask them how many times Real Madrid have won the same trophy, and then ask them to explain why Madrid fans don't feel the need to constantly ram this fact down everyone's throat.

Ask them to explain exactly how, when and why they began supporting Liversh*te - any reference to the past successes will of course give you all the ammunition you need to expose them the gloryhunters that they are.

Point to the emotion shown by Abramovich and compare that with the business-only involvement of their American owners. Also explain in words of two syllables or less the difference between our funding and theirs - which actually puts them at far greater financial risk than we are ever likely to be.

A little more on buying the league:

Remind them that back in the '60s they were going nowhere until John Moores (I think but you'll have to check) of catalogue fame threw a substantial amount of cash their way.

Mythology of the best fans in the world:

Give them any number of quotes from RAWK. Remind them that the team were actually booed off the pitch when they were still top of the league.

Then there is the often quoted reality of the bullying and the cowardice of their supporters - that while Liverscum fans were winning awards for good behaviour, the reality was that mobs of Scousers would pick on lone opposition fans away from the stadium, and would not only give them a good kicking, but rob them and very likely nick their clothes.

You can add Hysel, Hillsborough, Athens - stealling from their own supporters, and Istanbul, where they won it but many left around HT when they were 3-0 down and missed the comeback. Great supporters hey?

They also tried storming the turnstiles at Highbury and Stamford bridge in their semi/quarter finals over the past couple of years, you'd have thought they'd learn their lesson after their ' Justice for the 96 campaign'
