Question re table and points

Featured Replies

So this is probably a silly question, but I was wondering about this.

Being that, if we be beat the scum on saturday, and man u lose to sunderland, (however doubtful the last part might be) then that would leave us with 83 points, and Man u with 79, and 1 game left. Unless my math is very very off lol

Would the trophy then be presented at the Wigan game? Because this Sunday our game starts at 13:30. Theirs at 16:00. It just seems like a anticlimax, you've won it but can't collect the trophy in front of your supporters until the following week?

So why are Man U playing after us on Sunday, when regardless of the result the title can not possibly be decided 100% in their favour until the final game? If we played after them, and they lost (doubtful I know), and we won, then we'd collect the trophy immediately upon winning the game at Anfield (fkin priceless ::ChELSeAFaN:: )

For the record I'l be overjoyed however the fk we win it, but it does seem strange the scheduling.

The Anfield game was changed to Sunday due to TV broadcasting.

Trophy would be presented at the Wigan game if we beat Scum and United loose at Stadium of Light. If we both win, I am not sure..

the trophy will be at The Bridge (if both teams win this weekend) for the final game of the season. Basically, who ever is top Sunday evening will have the cup ready for presentation at their next match.

Not so sure that's right. I happen to remember a couple years ago there was an interview with a man who was in a car halfway between two stadiums, and had to watch the scores to tell him which stadium to drive to.

In Scotland when it came down to the last day of the season with the title still in the balance they had the trophy in a helicopter ready to go to the ground of the winner. It had practically landed when Celtic threw away the title by conceding late goals to ...err think it was Motherwell and had to rush off to where Rangers had just clinched the title.

Lol, thats a great story, but I don't think its true.

I believe the Premier League use the fact they have replicas of the trophy to their advantage here, and have one at each ground, ready to go in either eventuality. Although alternative theories are far more interesting than that.

But don't certain select people present the trophy? Unless they have replicas of them 2 how does it work lol. Never thought of this scenario before.
