Posted September 12, 201113 yr From the official site: CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD IN FULLToday (Monday) sees the deadline for submission of the Champions League squad List B ahead of our first match in the competition, which means the complete Chelsea squad for the start of the European campaign can be announced. Todd Kane 55. James Ashton 56. George Saville 57. Archange Nkumu 58. Daniel Pappoe 59. Philipp Prosenik 60. Rhys Taylor Once again this season each club competing submits a two-part squad list. List A contains no more than 25 players during the season. Eight of those 25 places are reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players' and no club may have more than four 'association-trained players' among the eight. A 'locally trained player' is either a 'club-trained player' or an 'association-trained player' and according to the competition regulations, a 'club-trained player' is a player who, between the age of 15 and 21 and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been with the club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons. An 'association-trained player' is a player who fulfils the same requirements as a 'club-trained player' but at other clubs under the some governing body, which generally means clubs in the same country. A maximum of three new players can be added to the list for the knockout stages should Chelsea make it that far in the competition, provided the names are added before the end of January and the above requirements are respected, so other players may need to be removed. One of the new players could have played in the Europa League for another club. Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season as long as the list is submitted the day before the match in question. A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1990 and has been eligible to play for the club for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption. These regulations means Josh McEachran can be on the B List, therefore not taking up a place on the more limited A List. LINK
September 12, 201113 yr So it's what we expected - no Lukaku. No Chalobah either, I wonder why that is. Not that it'll make a great deal of difference, but still...
September 12, 201113 yr So with Lukaku on neither list does this mean that he can't be added in January for the Knockout phase if someone gets sold?
September 12, 201113 yr So with Lukaku on neither list does this mean that he can't be added in January for the Knockout phase if someone gets sold? We'll submit another list of players in January for the knockout phase, which could easily include Lukaku if for instance Anelka heads off to Saudi Arabia or wherever this week's rumor has him going. All this means is that he can't be played once we've clinched the group (since he's clearly not part of our strongest eighteen at the moment, he'd not get much time before then in any case).
