Firstly, I am new the forum so please bear with me...

 

Secondly, I know people have talked about The Chels not having a reliable plan B formation, when games aren’t going our way, or simply to throw the opposition off (we are getting a little to predictable with our three musketeers, our lack of defensive midfield capabilities/discipline etc..)

 

So I want to put this formation out there for you to consider, comment, trash or simply think about:

                               Cech

  Cesar          Cahill         Terry         Cole

                                Luiz

             Ramires                  Oscar

                              Mata

               Torres                   Moses/Hazard

 

Permutations or subs to be used frequently or when appropriate:

 

-          Ivanovic Subs Cesar

-          Ivanovic subs for Cahill

-          Bertrand subs for Cole

-          Mikel Subs for Ramires

-          Lampard Subs for Oscar

-          Marin Subs for Mata

-          Sturridge Subs for Torres

-          Either Moses or Hazard up front

 

What d’you think?!

 

I know there are some caveats to this but would like to hear your thoughts – I simply believe we need to have a Plan B and we have enough talent to morph into new formations when the time is right or when its needed...

With all due respect I don't see how this would work at all. We would have Luiz in defensive midfield flanked by Oscar and Ramires, both of whom like to go forward themselves. Luiz has never played in midfield save for the few minutes vs Nordsjaelland, and I doubt he'd have the discipline for it. And this is presuming us using Hazard or Moses as strikers, when it's not their natural position.

I don't think torres can hold the ball up well enough to be that isolated

He hasn't played in midfield for us, but I think he started his career as a midfielder, but allegedly he was so poor that it almost ended his professional career before it really got going. Or so I've heard...
