CFC legends night..

Featured Replies

So the Police cancelled the do on friday, leaving 100s of us in limbo especially the organiser who will lose loads of money.

There was no reason at all to cancel the do, the excuse it was on safety grounds due to intelligence that another group were planning to turn up to cause trouble is utter bullsh*t, for starters the venue was being kept secret right up to yesterday, so how could another group know where it was being held?

The actual venue had two coppers stood outside it yesterday with a notice on the door, what a waste of time & money.

Its a shame the Police dont treat muslim extremists groups the same way, instead of 100s of fans average ages 30 to 70 who just wanted to meet 15 ex players, have a drink & a proper Chelsea knees up.

100s still turned out in SW6 last night, we had a great night, as the saying goes "YOU CANT BAN A CHELSEA FAN".

ACAB.

On page one it's advertised as being in Kensington. Would  the ex players been happy about not knowing where the venue was till yesterday?.

Kensington was also cancelled by plod hence the new venue being kept secret right until the last min, the players knew the score.

Who would have ambushed it CB surely anyone at the venue would have been retired from the scene. Just a pathetic excuse from the OB. Glad ye had a good night where did you end up going in SW6?

My guess would be Tottenham. Kicked off before the Carling Cup Final a few miles away from Wembley a lot of our older lot where there.

Nah they woudnt have known where it was, also no proper firm in their right mind would turn up at a do like that especially in this day & age.

Not only that they'd have been smashed with the numbers we were having.

very annoying and totally spiteful thing to do by the police. As you say this phantom firm was just the excuse they used and tbh the ob allow countless demos and marches every year. Are they going to ban every player/fan event now? Some of the people who were going to attend may have been about when football "culture" :Connie_threaten:  was at its peak many moons ago, but blimey the police certainly hold a grudge on these things, and some would say in these days of public sector cuts maybe certain FIO s were looking to justify there cushy roles.
