May 12, 201610 yr While most of you are getting ready for the Euros and the Copa America Centenario, there is another international Football tournament the OFC Nations Cup, basically Oceania's equivalent of the Euros. The tournament is based in Papa New Guinea, only in Oceania would a country like PNG host an international football tournament. You will have noticed (attached image) that all the games are in one stadium, I imagine the pitch will be crap for the final. Some of NZ's best players can't even be bothered to turn up, Winston Reid (West Ham), Tommy Smith (Ipswich). Our very inexperienced team Goalkeepers Max Crocombe (Oxford Utd, England 0, 0)Stefan Marinovic (SpVgg Unterhaching, Germany 3, 0)Tamati Williams (RKC Waalwijk, Netherlands 1, 0) Defenders Luke Adams (South Melbourne FC, Australia 0, 0)Michael Boxall (SuperSport Utd, South Africa 14, 0)Sam Brotherton (Wisconsin University, USA 1, 0)Kip Colvey (San Jose Earthquakes FC, USA 0, 0)Thomas Doyle (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand 2, 0)Louis Fenton (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand 3, 0) Midfielders Te Atawhai Wihongi (Onehunga Sports FC, New Zealand 1, 0)Moses Dyer (Onehunga Sports FC, New Zealand 2, 0)Clayton Lewis (Onehunga Sports FC, New Zealand 3, 0)Michael McGlinchey (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand 33, 3)Matt Ridenton (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand 1, 0)Bill Tuiloma (RC Strasbourg Alsace, France, 9, 0)Themi Tzimopoulos (PAS Giannina FC, Greece, 3, 0) Forwards Kosta Barbarouses (Melbourne Victory, Australia 29, 2)Rory Fallon (Bristol Rovers, England 18, 4)Monty Patterson (Ipswich Town FC, England 0, 0)Logan Rogerson (Wellington Phoenix, New Zealand 1, 0)Marco Rojas (FC Thun, Switzerland, 23, 1)Shane Smeltz (Sydney FC, Australia, 51, 24)Chris Wood (Leeds Utd FC, England 39, 14) Edited May 12, 201610 yr by kiwi1691

June 1, 201610 yr Author Well done New Zealand. Not really, the team have been forced to play route 1 football, being outplayed by island teams is not good. Our best goal scorer Chris Wood was injured in the last game. Oh and 1 June 2016 Papua New Guinea 2–2 Tahiti New Caledonia 7–0 Samoa
June 10, 201610 yr Author 4 June 2016 Fiji 2–3 Vanuatu New Zealand 1–0 Solomon Islands 5 June 2016 Papua New Guinea 8–0 Samoa Tahiti 1–1 New Caledonia Semi-finals 8 June 2016 New Zealand 1–0 New Caledonia Papua New Guinea 2–1 Solomon Islands The game between NZ and New Caledonia is possibly the worst game I have seen from the team.
June 11, 201610 yr Kiwi: Probably your equivalent of Scotland drawing with Iran in the 1978 World Cup!
June 11, 201610 yr Author All the best in the Final. Ended nil all after extra time, NZ won 4-2 on penalties.
