Reports from various sources, including The Times, suggest that Newcastle plan to sack Glenn Roeder at the end of the season and replace him with S.G. Eriksson.

Newcastle have issued strenuous denials, Freddie Shepherd claiming that the story is "absolute rubbish".

I've got two questions.

1. Surely even the Geordies can't be daft enough/desperate enough to consider appointing Eriksson as manager?

2. Why would Eriksson want to go to Geordieland when he's already on what amounts to a lifetime pension from the F.A.? ?30,000 a week wasn't it?

something inside me says that eriksson may return to form when he gets his next club side.
.

What? He's gonna start shagging Ulrika again?

he is a proven club manager. after an underwhelming spell with england his stock has plummeted hugely (and rightly so- long balls over players like beckham, lamps, gerrard, cole and scholes to players like rooney and owen is a ridiculous thing to do), but he's been successful at club level.

not to be totally discounted.

Strange that the media hasn't said that Eriksson will take Mourinhos place yet.

Anyway. Eriksson must have been linked with half of the clubs in europe by now and even though Roeder might be leaving I doubt Eriksson will take his place. If I'm not mistaking Eriksson once said that he was tired of the brittish media so I would be very surprised if he got a job in England again soon.
