Reports today that we are back in talks to bring in Luis Campos as sporting director. 

I think we desperately need some direction at board level. I know theres a few of us that would like to see an ex player get the role like ballackor Beletti, but Campos has done pretty well at Monaco and Lille, so he has some pedigree. 

Personally I think we should be going Sven Mislintat now he has left arsenal. He did an incredible job at Dortmund, who are much closer to our level as a club, than Monaco or Lille. He did okay at arsenal aswell, considering he was only there for a year, and they work under tighter financial restrictions than ourselves.

The other name that keeps getting bandied about is Monchi who is currently at Roma, and who was a big factor in building the Sevilla team that won 5 Europa league titles in 10 years. 

The transfer ban could be a spanner in the works, although it gives whoever comes in time to evaluate what we need, and start putting things in place for when the ban the is lifted. 

No idea why we've dragged our heels over appointing a new DOF. 

There's been rumblings for a while now that Roman is actively seeking a buyer for the club and I think our lack of movement in appointing key roles like a DOF only feeds into that. 

I haven't a clue who at the club is identifying transfer targets and I actually think Sarri has a much bigger say than he likes to let on. 

I think it would be healthy for us to get someone appointed again. Agree with @big blue that I would prefer to see someone come in with experience in that type of role rather than ex-player with no experience. 

Got a feeling Ruud Gullit might male a good DOF even though it didn't work for him as a manager.
