Hey everyone, this is a thread born out of boredom and will be sort of like a FIFA game experiment, but just for the sake of comparison, I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on how far we are from having the best player in each position at the moment.

On the Chelsea players, I've put in brackets where I think this particular player would rank amongst his peers overall (aka around how many players would you have before him right now) and would love for people to do the same. Keep in mind that the "best player" concept is bullsh*t, which is why I mentioned this will be a bit like FIFA ratings, plus I doubt we can all watch many games outside of Chelsea so it's all a bit of fun banter. 

To simplify things and make it relevant for us, let's consider they're all playing Pocchetino's favourite formation (4-2-3-1).

I guess for me the obvious void to fill would be Enzo's partner obviously and trying to get that GK and RCB situation finally sorted. Kepa is Kepa with his positives and negatives, but imo Fofana still has ways to go until we can finally say we have a solid defensive duo. With Badi/Colwill at LCB I feel pretty much satisfied, considering I really can't think of many left sided defenders I'd rather have besides them.

For the strikers, Madueke has shown some really good signs and I hope he can kick on from the tail end of last season and his U21 Euro performances, while Nico is a wild card as I haven't seen him play at all, just hoping he'd be around the 20-30 mark and with a lot of upside can surprise us all and be a menace for years to come. 

Most of the above i don't disagree with so much other than Enzo. I genuinely can't think of a midfielder in world football i'd have over him.

You need to get Jon Stones in that World XI.

Fair enough, I guess anyone up there in that 1-10 range could be considered top 1 at any given moment considering form, potential, value to one's side etc. I tried to be as neutral as possible, but Enzo is definitely at that place and I agree it'd be a bit harsh leaving him out for others, even though they'd be great players as well like Gundogan or Rodri.

Also fair enough, I didn't really know whether to put him as RCB or DM/CM and went with other options, but atm Stones is as good as anyone. Probably would be an even better fit than Kimmich to partner Modric, who I could never leave out of that XI.

To be honest, if I didn't put them into the XI they're most likely just 1-2 spots behind like Bernardo Silva, Stones, Gundogan and would love to hear who you'd replace to put more City players in there, but at the same time I'd advise to not get too attached to my personal World XI as I'd rather see where people are ranking our players compared to whom they think are the absolute best.
