Especially as people apply bias on them based on their preconceived opinion. I am basing my opinion on watching the games. Jackson has been terrible many many times. No disputing that. Nkunku hasn't had the chance to be that terrible on multiple occasions as he hasn't been selected. But when he was (against credible opposition, not the butcher, the Baker and the candlestick maker) he put in a performance equally as poor as any of Jackson's and, in my opinion, worse. Jackson misses far too many chances but at least tries to get into positions to get them. Nkunku walked around the pitch yesterday without the remotest interest in busting a gut. Give me a new centre forward first and foremost but if that doesn't happen I'll take a misfiring Jackson over a strolling around Nkunku This 100% 👆 On 31/12/2024 at 14:49, axman2526 said: But don't you think his mentally, his overall happiness and attitude, can subconsciously affect how he reacts to such situations? That is what I am saying. It is not a matter of him thinking how to score from there, it is his underlying unhappiness meant he did not score. It is because I rate Nkunku, and his finishing especially, that I believe a happy and settled Nkunku scores that chance. I like nkunku too but I think that's also part of the point being made by @loz. His mentality, when given a chance to prove himself, was not good enough or nowhere near it. Jacko has messed up many times as hes learning his trade but never puts his head down and tries again. Nkunku was told his chance will come and to take it, unfortunately imo he didn't. I'm definitely with loz here...I'd rather have someone busting a gut for us than head down and wallowing in self pity during the game. Also can't echo the positional statement enough. How many times was wacko in the right position to take a chance in 20mins compared to nkunku who had 70 or 80mins on the pitch. Having a goal scoring chance doesn't guarantee a goal (I think wacko sits inbetween salah and haaland in chances scored) but nkunku wasn't busting a gut to actually be in that position to take the chance! If Wacko can learn to play as a #9 then nkunku has no excuses to adapt and learn too in all this time, which imo he hasn't.
