You've actually touched on something I've been recommending since last summer. I think the captain should be Colwill.
James leads by example, whereas Colwill is much more vocal and an organizer in defence. As you've touched on, he will always be available too (knock on wood). It doesn't really matter at the end of the day so long as one of them is captain and the other vice.

I don't care much for Maresca's coaching but it seems rather OTT to blame him for sabotaging the season when we had Eghbali, Stewart, Winstanley, Shields et al making poor signings in the summer (on top of previous poor signings), refusing to strengthen in January, and then hiring the likes of Rosenior and McFarlane to replace Maresca.

Sorry to say I’m hearing that Bobby has passed away. He lived in the same village as my parents in Cork and was hugely admired as is the family.
He not only managed Cork City but also our village team to their only FAI senior cup final appearance.

I'm struggling to understand these Morgan Rogers links.
Even if we do get the funds to buy Rogers (after selling Enzo), what could we possibly offer over Arsenal? We can't/won't compete with them on wages and they offer far more stability.

I remember we were all discussing this last summer on how even on a data metric perspective, there was nothing positive about Garnacho. Maresca's football was also dependent on wingers being good 1 vs 1 given they are always isolated wide, and Garnacho's take on ability was among the worst in the league. Yet the directors prioritized signing Garnacho (for months) above players that could actually improve the team. They also signed Pedro Neto after failing to get Olise. Two players who are complete polar opposites ability wise.
This just goes with @SydneyChelsea point that their whole data philosophy is a sham. It's a player trading pyramid scheme.
This is why appointing Alonso was always going to be half the battle until we see something different.
