TT
Please tell me if my confidence is misplaced. 1) LA Galaxy lost last night 3-0, and do not look good. 2) posh spice's husband is not going to make a difference, and may not even play. 3) Jose has said that he will not be giving everybody 45 minutes for this game. The starting line-up should be strong, and changes may not be made until 60 minutes. 4) Everybody is out to impress and fight for their place. My gut feeling is that we should be able to win this game very easy, by at least 3 or 4-0. So, to get to my point, I have only found one bookmaker offering odds for this game so far, so I have lumped on: ?250 on us to win, @ 2/5 (for potential ?350 return). TT
I found this somewhat encouraging (even if only from the Current). Frankly Becks? new team resembles a Sunday morning pub side. TT
TT any idea where I would get a good price for a team to finish unbeaten this season ? Thanks TBB TBB, All of the bookies offer a really wide range of diverse bets each season, so I would be surprised if some of them weren't offering such a bet. The difficult part is finding which bookmaker is offering it. I will keep a look out, and if I see it I will be sure to let you know. You can also try and contact any bookmaker that you have an account with and ask them if they will offer you odds. A lot of bookmakers will give odds for something on request, but you would not necessarily get the best possible odds doing it this way. I am not an expert on calculating possible odds, but it is just a gut feeling when you think you have got good value or not. I would want to get something like at least 20/1 on the possibility for us to go the entire season unbeaten. Cheers, TT

TT
TT tell me pleaseWas the last season profittable for you? Last season, for all of my Chelsea bets, I had a profit of ?426.20 At one stage I was nearly ?2,000 up, but my weakness is that I start to bet more when I am ahead, and then I lose my profits much quicker than I made them. 2005/06 season I had a profit of ?101 (and again I was nearly ?2,000 up at one point). 2004/05 season I had a profit of ?3,160.25 (mainly due to us winning the League and Carling Cup) 2003/04 season I had a profit of ?618 2002/03 season I had a LOSS of ?122 2001/02 season I had a LOSS of ?1,588 2000/01 season I had a LOSS of ?917.50 1999/2000 season I had a LOSS of ?172.34 You can see why I keep a record, as it is important to know when the warning signs tell me to slow-up or stop. Although off course I am trying to make money, I also treat it as a bit of fun, and if I can end the season with a big fat ZERO (and no loss) then I am reasonably happy. Now, if we can manage to win the quadruple this season, I will be laughing all the way to the bank (see my earlier post). Although I consider myself a gambler, I don't really bet on much else, other than Chelsea. I don't touch the horses or dogs. I need to watch that I don't get too carried away with on-line poker though (mostly 7 card stud).
Tea Bar Boy
TT any idea where I would get a good price for a team to finish unbeaten this season ? Thanks TBB which team are you thinking of? It was just a general bet to be honest . Just have a feeling it will take something very special to win the league this year . Us and Scum Utd are definetly capable or remaing unbeaten all season. Victimpool could aswell (with heaps of luck) Thanks for the tips TT will see what I can find
TT
Us and Scum Utd are definetly capable or remaing unbeaten all season. Victimpool could aswell (with heaps of luck) Sorry TBB, I really cant go with you on that at all. There is only one team in the league who has any chance whatsoever of going the complete season unbeaten.
TT
more good news: [web]http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2007/07/20/sfnbec120.xml[/web] ... so I have decided to let my heart rule my head, and lumped another ?225 on us to win @ 4/9 (slightly better than the 2/5 I got earlier). High risk strategy I know, but I am trying to buy myself a little profit to get the season started on the right foot.

Victimpool could aswell (with heaps of luck) Thanks for the tips TT will see what I can find I will actually go against the grain and say that no team will be unbeaten. I would go so far as saying that nobody has a chance of going unbeaten. "Why is that?" you ask. Simple. I see many teams who will compete for the top spots. Apart from the usual (us, ManU, Pool and Ar*e) I see Newcastle (if free of injuries), Tottenham and perhaps another team or two being very strong. So the competition will perhaps be very strong, even stronger than last season. And if the teams just can have some luck and no long-term injuries on vital players I think we might be up for a very interesting season. I can see the winning team get quite a few less points than last seasons winner. Of course we will finish on top, but it won't be easy

At one stage I was nearly ?2,000 up, but my weakness is that I start to bet more when I am ahead, and then I lose my profits much quicker than I made them. But When Mourinho is in charge it`s a profitable business to be a Chelsea supporter For some period of time (especially his 2nd season) I just made a special bet `Chelsea wins` - Liverpool(H), Liverpool(A), Arsenal(H), Arsenal(A), ManU(H), ManU(A)( Oh, we lost, it was s**t). Tottenham?? Oh, not a chance. (Gallas scored winner on `92 )

Hey TT, I think the moral of the story is: next time you're up enough to buy a season ticket for the bridge and cover the cost of transportation and some celebratory beers after each match..do it and stop betting!
